Horimiya- A love story that started with babysitting duties;)
It's 2023 again, and I'm binge watching animes like my life depends on it. Watching multiple episodes and somehow, I still have alot of hours in the day to do other things. It's not the same thing now. I feel like the speed of time tripled and has plans to promote the apocalypse (obviously a joke). Time management might work well for me, proper, but I didn't practice any of that years ago and still got a lot of things done. I remember watching Attack on Titan again. The well crafted scenes of every beautiful chapter. My favourite scene still remains the one with Eren and Mikasa, after the death of Hange(the male Hange.) I have rewatched that scene more than 30 times and every time, I ended it with tears in my eyes. It was so beautiful, the music that accompanied it was wonderful picked and I'd be praising that scene for a very long time. But, I'm not here to talk about Attack on Titans. I'm here to talk about something else, Horimiya.

Horimiya is about Kyoko Hori and Izumi Miyamura, two high school students living double lives. Hori looks like the perfect popular girl at school, but at home she's basically a full-time babysitter for her little brother Sota while her parents are off being responsible adults elsewhere. Miyamura appears to be your typical gloomy loner at school, but outside he's covered in piercings and tattoos like he moonlights as a rock star.
Their paths cross when Miyamura finds an injured Sota and helps him get home. Hori answers the door and has absolutely no clue who this pierced stranger is until he explains. Once she realizes it's the quiet kid from school, things get interesting. Miyamura starts hanging around, helping with chores and keeping Sota entertained, probably because he's never had friends who actually wanted him around.
They eventually start dating, though Hori has a tendency to get a bit territorial about her boyfriend. The story jumps ahead to show them getting married, because apparently high school sweethearts do work out sometimes.

Their friend group adds plenty of drama to the mix. Toru Ishikawa has a massive crush on Hori but handles rejection like a mature human being, which is refreshing. Yuki Yoshikawa starts off liking Ishikawa but then realizes she's actually into Akane Yanagi, the brutally honest student council member who has the social skills of a brick wall but somehow makes it work.
Remi Ayasaki bounces around like she's permanently caffeinated and dates Makio Tanihara, who looks like he could bench press a car but is actually a softie. Kakeru Sengoku is the golden boy everyone likes, while Honoka Sawada quietly observes the chaos from the sidelines.
The series watches these characters fumble through typical teenage relationship nonsense. Hori learns to dial back the possessiveness, Miyamura figures out he's actually worth caring about, and somehow they all manage to stay friends through the awkwardness of adolescence.

Years later, Hori and Miyamura are married and their friend group is still intact, proving that sometimes the people you meet in high school actually stick around for the long haul. I can't relate to this but yes, they did it.
Random question and definitely not related but how do you guys deal with sleep? Coffee isn't working again, help! I'm sleeping randomly and any given and important time.😔
Anyways, Horimiya is a peak anime. And I hope you've seen it, if you haven't then this is a sign!
Thanks for reading.
What a lovely story. 😻 I love this type of anime. Thanks for sharing.
Oh yes, you need to watch it. It's so wholesome
I love how Hori and Miyamura's relationship develops, and how Miyamura goes from being the lonely guy no one pays attention to to the center of a group of friends. It's a feel-good anime. What I love most is that it shows that not everything is perfect. Hori's insecurity, Miyamura's past, the entanglements of others... it all feels so real.
I genuinely loves Miyamura's character depth. It was so wholesome and the whole movie was really good
me gusta este tipo de historia, se ve linda jeje, excelente reseña
