I wasn't confident enough to pursue my dreams assertively, instead, I often found myself hesitating, wondering if I was good enough.

The Roots of Doubt

My upbringing played a significant role in shaping these insecurities. People around me sometimes looked down on me, and their words echoed in my mind like a relentless critic. It affected me negatively, making me question my abilities and potential. Most times, I felt like I wasn't enough, not smart enough, not talented enough, not worthy enough. Self-doubt clouded my vision, making it hard to see my own strengths.

Everything began to shift when I got to university. I decided to study Computer Science, a field that fascinated me and promised growth. Becoming a full-time programmer opened doors to a world where skills spoke louder than insecurities. Alongside coding, I also went into Graphic Design, a creative outlet that let me express myself in different ways. Pursuing these passions wasn't easy; it required effort and facing challenges head-on.

The Internship Opportunity

Then came an offer for a paid internship, a chance to apply my skills in a real-world setting and build connections. But when the opportunity stared me in the face, old fears resurfaced. Self-doubt crept in like an uninvited guest: "What if I'm not good enough? What if I fail?" It was a familiar voice, one I'd heard often before.

But I wanted to beat that fear. I decided it was time to quit self-doubting myself. Overcoming self-doubt wasn't about ignoring realities, it was about facing them with a new mindset. I chose to apply for the internship despite the whispers of insecurity. Putting in the application felt like stepping into a ring, it was confronting my fears directly.
