What women want (Film Reviews) : Imagine Hearing Women Thought
Imagine a situation of Being able to hear ladies thoughts and understand their feelings lol, I mean that's like a fantastic imagination for we men, coz honestly women can be very difficult to fully understand, in this movie you laugh and enjoy that imaginations vividly.
I recently watched What Women Want and really one of the best movie I watched for a while, I'm still blown away by how well this romantic comedy holds up.
I am not a Romance kinda person o, me I like action movies and comedy but this movie here touch romance and comedy.
The movie was Directed by Nancy Meyers, and our Main stars of the movie is Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt in a story that's both hilarious and thought-provoking.
The plot or Storyline
First off, our star Nick Marshall (Mel Gibson) is a chauvinistic advertising executive who thinks he's got women all figured out,in the starting of the movies he's flirtatious with almost every lady. But after a freak accident, he gains the ability to hear women's thoughts - and his whole world is turned upside down.
As Nick navigates this new reality, he meets Darcy McGuire (Helen Hunt), his new boss who's determined to shake up the company's sexist ad approach. Although Nick was supposed to be promoted to be the Boss but his promotion was snubbed for Darcy because she is a lady, this really didn't go well with Nick, he sorted out way to overturn the situation but through his newfound ability, Nick learns to understand and appreciate Darcy's perspective - and romance blossoms.
What I love about the movie
I love Mel Gibson Character (Nick),
He is fantastic as Nick Marshall, bringing just the right amount of humor, charm, and vulnerability to the role. His character's transformation from a sexist ad man to a empathetic partner is believable and engaging, I mean I really felt like I was the one that was falling in love with Helen Hunt. Helen hunt is very beautiful too😍.
Helen Hunt is equally impressive as Darcy McGuire, bringing depth and nuance to her character. The chemistry between her and Gibson is undeniable, making their romance a joy to watch.
Here are some of the themes that really resonate with me
"What Women Want" explores some really important themes I think work in the right way, including:
- Gender dynamics: The movie challenges traditional gender roles and stereotypes, encouraging men to listen to and understand women's perspectives, as opposing to woke generation ideology.
Personal growth: Nick's journey is a metaphor for personal growth, as he learns to let go of his ego and become a better partner and person.
Relationships: The film highlights the importance of communication, empathy, and mutual respect in relationships. I would say it's part of the film that makes it more relatable.
Where the Movie Fell Short
Definitely all movies have their flaws or perks, and what women want is not exempted.
While I loved "What Women Want", it's not perfect. Some of the supporting characters feel a bit stereotypical and underdeveloped. And, of course, the movie relies on some familiar romantic comedy tropes that might feel a bit predictable to some viewers.
My Verdict about "What women want" and Ratings
After watching the movie over again, I enjoyed its charming and engaging romantic comedy that explores some really important themes. With strong performances from Mel Gibson and Helen Hunt, it's a movie that's well worth watching.
