The Unfair Reality of Wildlife and Conservation
Hello everyone,
Zoos can be a great way to learn about different species and their habitats, inspiring a new generation of conservationists. In Zoos By studying animals in a controlled environment, scientists can gain valuable insights into their behavior, physiology, and biology.
But on the other side of this there are a lot of Animal Welfare Concerns, I have seen documentaries about the stress and boredom that animals experience in captivity, and it breaks my heart. Just imagine the Limited Space and Natural Behavior, I honestly think Zoos often can't replicate the natural habitats and spaces that animals need, leading to a lack of stimulation and natural behavior.
Is it right to keep animals in zoos for human entertainment, or should we keep them in their natural habitat, something like safari?
Safari: The Real Deal
Animal in Safari are Wild and free:
Also in safaris we have some Safari Guides, Having an experienced guide shows me the ropes and shares insights into the animals' behavior and habitat.
lastly Safaris is always giving the Wild and free vibes, and I feel like I'm part of the wild.
The Zoo on the Other Hand is A Controlled Environment
Zoos teach me about different species, habitats, and conservation efforts.
Some zoos do amazing work in breeding programs and research to protect endangered species.
Zoos also provide a more predictable experience, which can be great for learning.
I will go for Safari, I feel Safari's are more ethical and fair.
Personally I have seen a lot of zoos in Nigeria maltreating all these Beautiful majestic creatures. I remembered seeing some lion in Ibadan zoo looking very malnourished and hungry.
I was so heartbroken, after all people pay to get access to come to the zoo, why can't they feed those animals well and give them proper feeding and treatment.
I remembered the only time I went visiting a zoo was more than 20 years ago, and it was even during my primary school excursion to Ibadan zoo.
It has really been a long time, and I would schedule an actual time to visit one, although I wish we have a lot of safari here in Nigeria, so I can check on that instead.

I believe wild animals should be given freedom to express themselves. In this way, one would be able to learn a lot about them but of course, even though they are given freedom, they should be locked and protected from harming people who come around. I don't like the idea of keeping them in cages unless they have the much needed resources to keep them thriving and living.
Exactly my point too
There are a lot of advantages attached to zoos but 90% of it is for for human gains and I think that's unfair. Those animals have rights too and deserve to enjoy their lives and be respected.
I love your suggestion for a safari instead of zoo. Atleast in such a place, animals can be safe and still have the liberty to live in a natural environment that will make them maximize their full potential
Safaris are more natural, I prefer them to Zoo
It's just like that, when animals are kept confined for a little bit of human happiness, many animals also get disturbed by the small space because they are used to living in the wild.
Yes it true
