The Ripple Effects of Bad Leadership on the Citizens
Hello Everyone,
It's a very painful experience whenever we the citizens of the country feels the negative effects of every bad decisions our leader takes or make,
I'm quite sure this is not just peculiar to we the Nigerian Citizens but to everyone all around the world, even you that is reading this post just now will nod in agreement to that.
Sometimes it's a policy the government makes or some wrong decisions.
I remember just the Start of the rule of the Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, immediately He resumed office , He removed the fuel subsidy, and Just this singular act of the President made almost all the Nigerians stuff and unimaginable pains and suffering.
The prices of things skyrocketed, and the fuel price increased.
Transport fees increased by 150%, as if things couldn't get more worst, the foodstuffs prices also skyrocketed.
I personally pitied a lot of Nigerian during the first 5 months under our Current government rule.
Sometimes I do wonder and think out loud: Am I really responsible for this? Should the citizens be held accountable for something I didn't directly do?
Many times When our leaders make decisions that have great consequences just like the one I gave you the example, it is very easy to get caught up in assigning blame to the Government or the citizens.
Should we, as individuals, should we suffer the consequences of decisions made by our leaders, especially when those decisions are inhumane or unjust? My strong answer to this is NO!
Many people don't understand that Being a citizen has with many roles.
Just like in the case of Nigeria, maybe the leadership decisions brought untold financial hardship,
You may have even voted against that leader, protested against the policy, or even written letters to your representatives expressing your discontent. But then Yet, despite your best efforts, the decision stands. I remembered some years back when I actually voted for Peter Obi then, I tried hard in my very own power to campaign for him on Social media and other platforms but at the end of the Day, ApC won the presidential election, obviously I was so very saddened but honestly there was just little to nothing that can be done,
The truth is that it is always easy to feel a sense of helplessness and guilt, as if you're somehow complicit in the harm being caused.
But The reality is that, as citizen of the country, our power to influence decisions is very limited or small. We may not have a direct say in policy-making, and our voices may not be heard. This can be frustrating, especially when we're passionate about creating positive change.but however it is important to note it that our individual actions, no matter how small they may seem, can collectively make a difference.
We should never say never, no matter how difficult it seems, we must stand up to bad governance, no matter how minority we are,
Our voice would be heard one day, we should all keep standing against them.
Bad leadership has a lasting effect, just like a ripple in the water, once one point is triggered, everyone feels the effects, but we as citizens should not we did not make those decisions, we are not to be blamed for it.
This is my response to #hl-w192e2
***Thank you and do have a great day❤️

Yes you're right, bad leaders has lastly effects. The bad decision our leaders make, it's we the citizens that suffer for it. Why should we the citizens be punished for our leaders mistakes instead of them? I will say it's unfair, when our leaders were signing on the papers we didn't know, when they were embezzling money and sharing it among themselves we weren't their, so why should we be punished?
It's a very painful thing honestly
Funny how it is always the citizens that pay for the crimes of their leaders.
It's just seems inevitable
