Roller Coaster of Life
Hello Sci-fians
One big lesson I learnt in life is to always strive to do your best and expect both the best and the worst possible outcome.
Truly God is always there to help us, but if we want to truly grow and move to the next level, you have to face series of challenges.
Challenges and difficulties comes before change of stories and levels.
From the Day one, I have always been an hustler, I believe so much in getting my hands on something, all thanks to my parents for being the best on that, my Dad taught me how to engage in a profitable work and how to facilitate it for a long term success.
I have also worked in various places, different organisations and bodies, I have worked under a lot of bosses, that are both Terrible and Good, regardless I am so glad that I actually passed through them all, these are different challenges that helped shaped my confidence, now I am more experienced in working with people and also have more knowledge of relating with people.
As a business person especially, you will always be ready for setbacks, challenges and difficulties in your business, while also aspiring for the best profit. Regardless of doing several market surveys and forecasting, you might still have some losses.
My greatest low for this year in form of finances was from my storage business l, also my highest profit this year also has comes from my business. Just like I said earlier, I did all the research and finding on this particular business but sometimes things don't work the way you expect it.
My greatest loss for this year come from My Rice storage business.
Storage business is a type of business whereby you buy some farm produce like (Rice, beans, yam, Melon seeds (Egusi), palm oil and lot more),at cheap prices, store them for some period of time until when the prices of the such produce increases, so that we can resell for higher prices and gain profits in the process.
So around February this year, I brought 10 bags of Rice, each bag cost me #80,500 (Eighty Thousand, Five hundred naira), I was hoping the price will still go up as it did last year, but to my greatest suprise, the price of Rice was totally Slash down to #60,000 (Sixty thousand naira) and #55,000. (Fifty five thousand naira) For different quality of rice. This happened because the federal Government opened the borders, and there were lots of rice imported into the country, hence the crash in prices.
Since my rice is of the higher quality I could have easily sold it for 60,000 and accept my fate but one of my friend advised me to mill the Rice that we can easily get our money back, I took his advice and opt in for milling, which has extra expenses, in the long run after milling the 10 bags, we got a total of #480,000 (four hundred and Eighty thousand), remember there were still a lot of expenses from the milling of rice that are amounting to one hundred thousand naira.
This was so far one of the biggest loss I had on the business so far this year, unlike last year that I had up to #300,000 profits from the same Rice storage.
Business is Business as usual, anything can happen, we can only pray and work smarter.
Here is my response to #smp-w29
Thank you and Have a great Week
In hustling we have to expect the best and at the same time the worst.
You are very correct
Worst and best moments are part of life which builds one and makes one better if truly you want to leave a mark on earth.
