My skills that can thrive beyond the internet
Hello Everyone
I am a person that so much believes in attaining skills and business, this is why for me even if the world doesn't have internet again, I can still very much thrive in a world without internet.
So I have a lot of skills, but two stands out, my singing skills and Tailoring and sewing but today, I would be talking majorly on Tailoring.
As someone who's passionate about getting some skills set and handling business, I went for a vocational training that was hosted by Government of Lagos state.
Out of all the various skill acquisition that is there in the curriculum of the school then, I chose to learn fashion design this is because dressing and sewing my own clothes is a good thing to me, I feel satisfied and happy whenever my clothes made by me.
I learnt this skill only for a year, from 2013 to 2014.
I've often wondered how my skills would serve me in a world without the internet. Would I be able to make a living? Would I be able to connect with others? The answer is yes, and here is why:
First of all Tailoring is My Self-Sufficiency
When the internet's down, I can still create and repair my own clothing and textiles. This self-sufficiency gives me a sense of freedom and independence. I can Make my own clothes, With my tailoring skills, I can create garments that fit me perfectly and reflect my personal style. I can extend the life of my existing clothing by repairing and maintaining them, reducing waste and saving resources.
In a world without the internet, my tailoring skills become a valuable asset. I can create some garments for others, providing a unique service that can be exchanged for goods or services.
I can barter my tailoring skills with others, exchanging my services for things I need or want.
As a tailor, I'm not just creating clothes , I'm building relationships.I can meet new people and build a network of clients and collaborators who appreciate my skills.
I can teach others about tailoring, sharing my expertise and helping to build a stronger, more self-sufficient community.
I still remember when we were still in the Vocational classroom.
My tailoring skills have made practical applications beyond just making clothes. I can:
Upholster and restore textiles*: I can repair and restore furniture, carpets, and other textiles, giving new life to old and worn-out items.
By creating and repairing my own clothing and textiles, I can reduce my environmental impact and live more sustainably.
In conclusion:
In a world without the internet, my tailoring skills are a lifeline. They give me the freedom to be self-sufficient, connect with others, and create new opportunities for myself. I'm excited to see where my skills take me!

Tailoring work is ancient, I mean it goes as way back as the time of Abraham in the Bible, so it's going to do well without the Internet but that's all, it will be hard for your work to go viral, it's not an impossible mission but a very hard one
Yeah that true
Tailoring is a very nice skill, I learned it for about six months before quitting for teaching some years back.
As much as we know that the internet will always be there for us, it is wise to also have a physical skill as a back up
You nailed it,My Brother
