Libraries are Fortress of Knowledge

Hello Everyone,
So I read many post of people's thoughts on whether we should keep the Legacy of using the Library over using everything Computer or Digital library, I am so glad a lot of people are actually supporting keeping our beautiful Libraries.

We are In an era where digital libraries and e-books have become increasingly popular, some may wonder if physical libraries are still relevant.
Some people even called people who visits the Library as Old school lol.
However, libraries have always been more than just repositories of books – they are vibrant community hubs, incubators of knowledge, and sanctuaries for learning.

Libraries are often referred to as the "people's university," because they provide free or low-cost access to information, technology, and educational resources.
I remember in my university days we do visit the libraries to read, it a special type of learning environment on its own, you get to meet other people reading in such a focused and determined manner, you will also be influenced to do better too. Sometimes the library can borrow you books too, although I never really tried that when I was in school then.

We should also note that Library are space where people from all walks of life can come together, socialize, and engage in community activities.

For children, libraries are a magical place where they can discover new worlds, meet new friends, and develop a love for reading. For seniors, libraries are a haven where they can connect with others, access information, and stay engaged with their community.
I remembered I love to check out the Guinness world record in the Library especially when I felt so bored and I need to really check out something that can fill my curiosity.

While digital libraries and e-books have changed the way we access information, they lack the human touch that physical libraries provide. Librarians are highly trained professionals who can offer expert guidance, recommendations, and support.
They can help you navigate the vast amount of information available, both in print and online. They can also provide a listening ear, a comforting presence, and a helping hand when you need it most.
Many a time when we are online trying to get a book, it's very easy for you to get lost in the vastness of the internet, there are so many websites that can have a higher rate of malicious viruses waiting to infect your computers. I was a victim of ramsomeware some years ago, I lost all the Datas on my laptop then. But whenever you visit library physically you get to meet the librarian that would show you a lot of hidden books that you could have spent a whole day searching for.

Libraries are increasingly becoming hubs for innovation and creativity, offering makerspaces, coding classes, and other programs that foster entrepreneurship, artistry, and imagination.
They provide access to cutting-edge technologies, such as 3D printing, virtual reality, and digital media, allowing people to explore new ideas and creative pursuits. Although all these innovative developments may have not reached all Nigerian Libraries. My formal University (Ekiti state University), we don't actually have spaces for market places, coding classes and even sections for ebook. I can't really say I'm 50% correct, this is because I never really explored much of the library.

What are the Future of Libraries, should we discard the Idea of physical libraries?

As technology continues to evolve, I strongly believe libraries will remain relevant by adapting to the changing community needs and embracing innovation.

I made some research and I found out about something called the Hybrid Space.
Libraries will become hybrid spaces, combining physical and digital resources to create seamless learning environments. They will focus on community engagement, providing programs and services that foster social connections, creativity, and lifelong learning, I strongly believe with this improvement and further evolving Library will remain relevant in the future.

In conclusion
As we move forward in the digital age, it is essential that we prioritize the importance of libraries and the role they play in supporting education, innovation, and community development.
We need to come together to celebrate the enduring relevance of libraries and the vital role they play in our lives. Libraries are Here to stay.
