Forgetting to Attending a meeting that cost me greatly

Hello Everyone,

At one point of our lives we often forget about somethings, no matter how much we tried to remember, it's usually just find a way to skip our mind.

I don't know if you Have experienced it before, Have you ever forgotten about an important event or appointment, only to realize later that it had a significant impact on your life? I recently experienced this myself, and it made me wonder why I often forget things that are important to me.

Yesterday was a very crazy day for me at work, as usual I was a very busy person that happens to manage some couple of workers in my company, we have a lot of branches, so we need more work force right now but we are short of staffs, most of my staffs have recently been admitted into school so this caused me a lot of stress.
I had to stay in office myself as of yesterday.

This is where the whole forgetting thing came to play,
As at yesterday we had a very compulsory Meeting in the Agent banking organisation that I am working with, the name of the Fintech company is Moniepoint, I even saw all the notifications on WhatsApp groups, our state coordinator has issued a warning that absenteeism would not be tolerated.
That yesterday my hands was so full with activities to extent that I forgot to set reminders and alarms for the yesterday's Meeting, which was tagged. May Performance Review,
The meeting was supposed to start by 8:10pm to 9:10pm just one hour meeting. As the habit of forgetting got me really bad, I didn't check my phone's notification or WhatsApp until it's 11pm, by that time the meeting has already ended.
Immediately I got online I tried to join the meeting but it has ended already.

This was a very painful mistake because Our state coordinator has placed a #20,000 fines on anybody absent.
This was a mistake that could have easily been evaded if only I set reminders and notifications for the meeting. Even some of my closest friends that I usually call for meetings didn't remember to call me that yesterday, I was so devastated.

Yesterday I was so full of regrets As I reflected on why I forgot about the appointment, I realized that there are several reasons why I often forget things. Here are a few possible explanations:
My Busy Schedule: It is very expected that My schedule can get pretty hectic, with work, family, and social commitments. Sometimes, it's hard to keep track of everything, and important events or appointments can slip my mind.

Also another thing I detected yesterday was that Lack of Sleep really affects my focus, I know I'm not getting enough sleep most nights, and fatigue can significantly impact my memory and cognitive function. When I'm tired, I'm more prone to forgetfulness.
Day before yesterday I slept by 2:00 am and woke up around 5:00am for our morning prayer, so as of yesterday morning I was feeling very sick, right there it was dawn on me that I need more sleep time.
I also noticed that Stress and Anxiety can cause me to forget, remember I told you guys earlier that we are shorting staffs, me handling the office on my own really have a negative toll on my mental health, I'm going through a stressful period, and anxiety can affect my ability to focus and remember things.

Here are some of the things I could have done to stop this reoccurring act of forgetting.

To reduce forgetfulness and improve my memory, I've started implementing a few strategies:

Using a Planner or Calendar
Writing down important dates, appointments, and deadlines helps me stay organized and ensures I don't forget critical events Again.
Setting Reminders: Setting reminders on my phone or computer helps me stay on track and ensures I don't miss important appointments or deadlines.
Prioritizing Sleep:
Depriving myself of sleep is one of the worst mistakes I could ever make, but now I'm making a conscious effort to get enough sleep each night, which should help improve my memory and cognitive function.
Managing Stress and Anxiety: I'm exploring some stress-reducing techniques, such as meditation and deep breathing, to help manage my anxiety and improve my focus.

Conclusion
Forgetting about the May Review Meeting was a wake-up call for me. It made me realize the importance of staying organized and on top of my commitments.

Here is my response to #hl-w168e1

Thanks for visiting my boy, do have a great time❤️

Some things we forget really stay in our memory forever, but we have to accept that it is part of our lives and of being human beings.

Your method to avoid forgetfulness is great and everyone should adapt to it to avoid frequent forgetfulness.

Forgetting is a very big problem many of us have to deal with, sometimes I wish it was possible to stop it but it's not.
