Balance, Flexibility, Speed and Strength: My cycling Experience

Good day Cycling Community!
Am oluwadrey, this is my first post on this community,am excited, i hope you all have a great time reading.

Health is Wealth, am quite sure everyone agrees to that One of The most healthy activity is cycling. Cycling can help your body by burning calories and result in weight loss or it can help by building muscle in the lower and upper body.

I would tell you the story of how i learnt Riding a bicycle.
Since I was a child, i have always dreamt of owning a Bicycle or perhaps maybe ride.
It has always been a childhood fantasy, and that dream never really came true till i entered university. Although I learnt how to ride bikes when i was very little, i got some injuries riding them recklessly, but i never owned any of my own till i entered the University.

My mum stressed out the fact that i was too enthusiastic about Riding or owning a bicycle. That She is scared that if i owned a bicycle she fears the worst.


Here is why she feared me getting a bicycle or owning one


This was a funny memory from my childhood, my mum told me that when i was very small i do ride a Make shift Bike tires from our house to almost 10 street away😂. My and my goons would go in mass, taking the major road as if it was our own, with no fears of cars passing or any vehicle in particular, we would sometimes go out in the morning and won't come back till its dark,
this always scared my mum a lot, she sometimes go out to look fo me, she would scold me many times due to wounds and injuries sustained from reckless driving of bicycle but that doesn't stopped my passion on bicycle and bikes.

I have a Neighbor just 5 blocks away from our House. His name is Adebambo, He owns a bicycle.
Big thanks to him, he taught me how to ride Bicycles.


Skills you need to possess in order to ride bicycles


To ride bicycle you need to maintain balance and stability on motion while pedalling,
I fell down many times when i was first learning to ride bikes, Someone have To hold the bicycle while I was matching the pedals so as to maintain balance on my first 3 day of learning how to ride a bicycle. Luckily I got better on the third day of learning.

You need. flexibility to turn while on motion. Trust me you need to be very careful and skillful to turn to bicycle, your body needs to flexible or else during sharp turns or bends on the road, you might likely sustain accidents.
Strength and speed, especially when you are riding uphill.


Some of the benefits of Cycling


Riding of bicycle is a cardiovascular exercise.

  1. Cycling keeps you fit
  2. It keeps your heart healthy
  3. It makes your bone stronger
  4. It increases muscle strength
  5. it helps in overall weight loss.
  6. Cycling help you relax and unwind.

In conclusion my cycling experience is an amazing one, i feel refreshed, fit and healthy whenever i ride.

There is no need to fear, some one can assist you, it might just take you only a day to learn some times

Because sometimes we don't care what we are doing while riding.

This was a long read but it was worth it.. You wrote everything you should have divided for subsequent posts here... What would you now write subsequently?.. Lol.. Don't mind me.. I enjoyed reading your story though.

And thanks for sharing with us the benefits of riding a bicycle. I believe everyone should try as much as possible to get one so as to enjoy these benefits.
