Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is "Skipped My Mind," so let’s dive in.

We’re all human, and no matter how careful we try to be, there are times we’ll still forget things, that’s just how we are. We’re not perfect, and forgetfulness is part of life. It’s something that can even ruin perfect relationships, whether in a marriage, with someone we love, among friends, or even at work.

Just imagine a couple who have been married for 7 years, and the husband always forgets their anniversary, not once or twice, but every single year. That kind of forgetfulness can destroy the marriage.

Now, I won’t say I’m perfect because forgetfulness happens to me a lot. There are times when someone asks me to do something really important for them, and bam, I forget about it. It’s never intentional, but I just tend to forget things sometimes.

Let me share an incident that really affected me. This happened when I was in 200 level. It was during exam period, and I had just two papers left. Among the two papers I was about to write was a carryover course for one of my guy friends that was in 300 level then. So, since we were close, he gave me the A.O.C (Area Of Concentration), and told me to focus especially on one particular topic. According to him, he said there was a 70% guarantee the topic would come out, and it carried a lot of marks.

I didn’t want to be the only one to benefit from it, so I shared the A.O.C with my friends, and they were happy. That day, when I got home,I started reading and preparing for the exam but unfortunately, that one important topic I was asked to focus on completely skipped my mind, I didn’t read it.

On the exam day, I got to school feeling prepared. I met up with my friends, and we started revising and asking each other questions. Then one of my friends asked a question from that particular topic, the one I forgot to read. I couldn’t answer it. I asked what topic the question came from, and they mentioned it. That’s when I realized I hadn’t read it at all.

Just as I opened my book to try to read it quickly, the supervisors came and told us to move into the hall for our exam. They arranged us two people per seat. Unfortunately for me, none of my friends were seated near me or even on my row, so I couldn’t rely on anyone if the question came out.

As the exam papers were being shared, I collected mine and the first question I saw was from that topic, and it was a compulsory question that carried 30 marks. My heart sank. I started shaking, sweating, and I even had tears in my eyes. My friends looked at me with pity because they knew what had happened, and they also knew there was nothing they could do to help. It was like the devil was mocking me, no friend around, and I forgot the one topic that mattered most.

We were told to attempt three questions. I answered two, but I had nothing to write for the first one. A voice in my head kept telling me to just submit, but I refused. I said to myself, “No matter what, God must do something.” I knew it was my mistake, but I still hoped for a miracle.

One of my friends wanted to help, but if she tried, she would get caught, and they might either change her seat or ask her to submit. I told her not to worry, there was really nothing she could do. Time was running out, we had about 15 minutes left.

Then, as if God heard me, one of the supervisors suddenly told her to move and sit beside me. I couldn’t believe it. That’s how I was able to write the answer to question one. I knew that was nothing but God’s miracle, using that supervisor to save me. After the exam, I made sure to thank my friend for her help.

Since that day, no matter what A.O.C we’re given to us, even if it ends up being wrong, I will always make sure I read it. I won’t let that kind of mistake repeat itself again.

In conclusion, forgetfulness is part of life, but we need to do our best to avoid it. Just imagine if God didn’t use that supervisor to ask my friend to sit beside me, I would have submitted without answering question one and probably failed the course. But the devil is a liar, and God is greater than any mistake or plan of the enemy. That day, He showed up for me.

Sometimes following AOC might not even help in an exams, some lecturers will give AOC and then bring questions from a different place.

Luck is still on your side that time. Imagine if you haven't answered that question😬. I also tend to forget things that I sometimes need to stop and think about what I am doing.

Yes oo, luck was truly on my side that's why I was able to answer question 1 through my friend. Forgetfulness is very common and normal thing.
