"Think, Feel, Pray: How I Decide What's Right for Me."

Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today's topic is "Make a Decision," so let's dive in.

Making a decision in life isn't always easy. Sometimes we're caught between two or more choices, and each one feels like it could change our life in a big way that we don't expect. The decision could be about a new job, relocating to a new place, or even trying to drop a habit. But no matter what it is, every decision brings either good or bad results. So let me explain my decision-making process.

First, I always pause and think. I don’t like to rush into making big decisions because I believe that when we rush, we might make huge mistakes that we’ll later regret. So, anytime I want to make a decision, I calm myself down and allow my mind to settle. Sometimes it takes me a few minutes, hours, or even days before deciding, but I make sure I’m thinking straight before making the decision.

Secondly, before making any decision, I always seek people's opinions, especially those who have gone through something similar and also have experience about it. I remember when I wanted to buy a new pair of palm slippers, even though I already had two pairs, including some normal palm sandals. But because someone gifted me some money, I felt like spending it. So I decided to ask for my brother’s opinion first. When I told him, he asked me, "Don’t you already have two of them, plus, four palm sandals?" I said, "Yes." Then he said, "Why spend money on unnecessary things when you can save it for something more important?" That’s when I realised he was right. I kept the money and decided to save it in case of an emergency. Also, It's not that I can't make my own decisions about the plam slippers issue, but at that time, I needed someone's opinion, that's why I asked my brother. And I'm thankful I didn’t make that decision on my own.

Also, I pay attention to how I feel inside my heart about my decision. If I’m about to make a decision and I feel uneasy or confused, I listen to that feeling. But if I feel peace in my heart and the decision feels right, then I go ahead with it, because I believe that when we listen to our heart and not our brain, the decision we make will likely be a good one.

However, money is also a major influence. To be honest, we can’t make most decisions if we don’t have the money or support to back them up. So before making any decision, I ask myself whether I’m financially ready or not.

Furthermore, when making a decision, I ask myself where the decision will lead me in the next four months, six months, or even a year, or if it will affect my future in any way. That helps me stay calm and make a better decision that won’t bring long-term regret.

Lastly, I pray and hand over my decision to God, because I know He’s capable and knows what’s best, which gives me peace, because I believe that even if things don’t go as planned, everything happens for a reason, because I've learned that no matter how careful we are, not every decision will go smoothly.

That pause and think moment is a very important one just as it is important to pray to God because it's at that point you understand what God's will is, not yours 😌

Considering how we feel about a decision before making it is very important because it grants us the privilege of weighing the pros and cons of the decision. After all you would be the primary recipient of the consequences of your own decisions.

You're absolutely right, if we make any wrong decision we will be the one to suffer the consequences.

Only those people are wise who think about everything before making a decision and think that this decision will not harm me in the future, and only those people live their lives wisely.
