Letting go means us freeing ourselves from the burden we've been carrying from the past experience or the emotions we feel about our past that still hold us back from moving forward. It's about us accepting what happened in the past, learning from our past, and making a good decision in order for us to focus on our present and future rather than being stuck in our past.

Why we need to understand to let go of the past

Emotional burden: We have many people who still carry their emotional burden from past experiences such as failed relationships, failures, miscarriages, and even regrets of something that still eats them. Because of these things I mentioned, it can lead people to feel sadness, anger, and anxiety and also lead people not to have the ability to enjoy their life.

Stuck in the past: We still holding onto the past can prevent personal growth, making it difficult to move forward, making us stuck without moving forward.

Impact on relationship: What we have faced in the past can affect our present relationship and affect the way we interact with people. For example, maybe in the past we were betrayed by someone close to us or our friend, and the impact of it can affect our interactions with people, making it hard for us to trust or be free with people, thinking that the past will repeat.


Benefits of us letting go of the past

Increasement of happiness: Letting go of our past experience can increase happiness for us, opening the door of joy and also allowing us to enjoy ourselves all because we forget the past.

Improvement of a relationship: Letting go of our past experience allows us to be free with people; it makes us to love and support people without us thinking about what happened to us in the past.

Encouragement: Letting go of the past experience gives us control of our lives; it makes us forget the past and makes us move forward in life without any burden.

Mental focus: letting go of the past experience clears our mind and allows us to make good decisions about our lives.

Steps in which we can let go of the past

(1) Let us seek support from our friends and family who can help and guide us through the process.

(2) Instead of us sitting in one place or in a corner thinking about our past, we can engage in any activities that we love that will make us happy, such as football, cooking, listening to music, singing, meditation, drawing, etc.

(3) Let us all practice the habit of forgiveness. Forgiven someone that hurt us doesn't mean we are not hurt, but it frees us from carrying the burden everywhere.

(4) Let us reflect on what we learned from our past experience; it can also help us in the future.

In conclusion, the art of letting go of our past experience means forgetting what happened to us in the past and finding what can bring joy and happiness to us, and also freeing ourselves from the past. Though letting go of our past takes time, trying to forget our past is worth it in the end.
