Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. So let's dive into today's topic, but first I would love to explain what dieting and exercise mean.

What is Dieting

Dieting is a control or regulation of the food we eat, making us maintain our weight and improving our health.

What is Exercise

Exercise is a physical activity helping us to improve or maintain fitness, e.g., strength and health, In addition, dieting is about what we eat, while exercise is about how we move our body. So let us go back to the main topic for today.

Which is a better way to stay in shape?

If I have to choose, then I will say the combination of the two is perfect, perfect in the sense that.

Dieting has the biggest impact on our weight management because the calorie intake determines whether we will gain, lose, or maintain the proper weight we desire. If we want to diet, we have to control or caution the portion of food intake we eat or find the best nutritious food to eat. In doing this, we can manage our calorie intake more easily.Weight loss can be achieved through dieting alone, and it can easily reduce the calorie intake than burning the same number of calories through exercises. Though dieting focusses only on controlling our weight, it doesn't build or strengthen our strength.


Exercise also helps in burning calories and improves our fitness, e.g., strength and health. Regular exercise helps us to burn more calories even at rest. The advantages of exercise are that it helps maintain weight loss by burning calories, improves our physical capabilities, and boosts our energy levels.

Before, I was fatter than the way I am now, that my siblings and families will always say, Where am I getting fat?". So one day my eldest sister called me and suggested that if I want to reduce my weight, I should control my food intake and start exercising in other to keep me fit. After following my eldest sister advice to combine both the dieting and exercise together, I saw noticeable improvement on my body. All I did was reduced my food portion and also, added morning workouts.

This month when I was doing my birthday, my sisters saw me and were shocked, saying am I the one because my weight has reduced and I am now fit, and I was happy for my body outcome.


Which one do I do?

I combined both the dieting and exercising together because it helped me maintain my weight, improve my strength and physical capabilities, and lastly, boost my energy levels.

Should both dieting and exercise be combined?

Yes, they should be combined, like I said earlier, because combining both gives us the quick outcome we want. In dieting, if you eat too many calories, you will definitely gain weight, and if you eat fewer calories, you will lose weight, because eating too many calories can lead to gaining fat.

When can exercise or dieting become toxic for the individuals?

Exercise and dieting can become toxic for individuals if they are not been careful or when they take their exercise and diet to an extreme level which can affect their health.

Why Exercise Becomes Toxic

Some people become obsessed and addicted with exercise, feeling like they need to push their bodies to the extreme level without resting, and if they don't, they will be feeling angry and guilty, thinking why didn't they exercise that particular day.

Why Dieting Becomes Toxic

Some people only focus on eating healthy food so that they can lose weight and not gain weight, and because of that, they will avoid eating outside because they will be thinking outside food is not healthy enough.
