Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog, and happy New Month of August to you all. Today's topic is "Just one infrastructure," so let's dive into it.

We know that infrastructure is very important, and it's the duty of the government to take responsibility for it. Also, in every locality, Electricity and Roads are very important things they must have.

Ever since I started schooling in Lokoja, the place I reside lacks electricity, and also the road is bad. Since we are already in rainy season, anytime rain falls, the road will be muddy and slippery all because the sand is much in my area, and for the government to do something to it, they didn't. Even potholes are so many that if cars or bikes mistakenly step into the potholes and someone is passing by at that time the water inside it will splash on the person's body. People in our area have tried to pack the sand and sell it to those who are buying sand so that they can do asphalt paint roads, but the government didn't allow them, saying it's their duty still yet they refuse to do it.

A incident happened last month in my area, where a bike man was carrying a passenger and fell with the passenger while struggling with the slippery road of our area, and nobody came to help them because rain was falling at that time and also because the road is slippery. Anytime rain fell and I am going to school, I used to be careful so that I wouldn't slip and fall.

Sometimes I will sit and be thinking of the way the government is treating their citizens. The funniest part is that if they want people to vote for them, they will start making false promises, saying all want they lack in their area, that they will repair it, and that they will make sure not to disappoint us. Even you will see them dashing people with free money, food, etc., but immediately they ascend the position they are looking for, they will forget the promises they make and also forget that those people are the reason for them to reach that position.

The second is electricity: For the past three weeks we don't have any electricity, and still we are paying electricity bills. I can still remember when there was no electricity for two months, and for us to charge, it became a problem that we had to wait for anybody thay on their generators before we could charge.

Even in our area, there's no streetlight in case if night falls, there will be light to see where we are going. Anytime there's no light, every place will be dark and even to walk It's a problem because we don't know what will be passing by that time. We are fed up with everything that's happening, and the government is doing nothing.

It's very important to function with electricity because all that we are doing needs electricity. In hospitals, schools, and our homes, we all need electricity. For example, in hospitals, they need electricity so that they won't put the lives of there patient's at risk. Even in school, they rely on electricity for their computers and other essential resources.
Even to buy fuel and on generator has become a problem because the reliance on generators has become costly and unsustainable solutions. Sometimes if we want to charge, we have to reach school before we charge, and also have to manage our phone battery so that in case nobody on there generator, the remaining battery will sustain us till we go to school the following day. Some of the students won't have lectures, but because they want to charge, they will come to school.

Our government is not doing their work; even those people who are ready to help, they didn't allow them, saying they would do it, but still they are not doing it. We need the government to take immediate responsibility so that they can help with our infrastructure in our area or locality.

My dear, the issue of bad roads in this part of the world is something else. Road accident claim the lives of people more than natural disasters.

Sometimes, I feel it will be best if we shift our attention to waiting from the government to fix certain things that are within our capacity and do them ourselves. I commend the effort of those citizens who filled those potholes, I know it won't hold long but it will certainly go a long way.

For electricity, I don't even know what to say, we pay outrageous bills but light is not stable. Well, I hope things get better soon.

I enjoyed the read🥰

Yeah, we pay bills for electricity still they don't give us light. Also, you are right about we waiting for government to fix things for us, what we can we can do within ourselves let just do it for the sake of our safety.

Bad roads are something not to talk about cause they destroy lives and properties, recently someone had an accident due to these bad roads and it was very severe, imagine we had more good roads certain accidents could have been averted.

Our needs are just too many. What annoys ne is that we're not asking for too much. Just the basic necessities that would aid our lives, yet the government is doing little to nothing about it. It's causing too much harm.

I just wonder when Lokoja will change. This has been the issues when I was there over a decade ago. All other relatively state capitals have overtaken Lokoja over the years. We hope for improvements.

I really don't know why the government aren't doing something about this road of a thing.
The only time you see them do something about this road of a thing is when the governor or a high ranking is coming around to that particular location.... which is not suppose to be like that.
