"That One Presentation Day That Still Makes Me Smile."

Good day, people of Hive! Welcome to my blog. Today’s topic is from Hive-Naija and the topic says “Throwback to a Day That Still Makes You Smile.” So, let’s dive in.
There are some days in our lives that we can never forget. No matter how long ago it happened, just thinking about it always makes us happy. I also have one of those days that still makes me smile.
It happened when I was in 200 level, first semester. One of the courses I was offering then was SOC 207, and the course was about cultures and languages. The lecturer taken us the course then grouped us according to our tribes for the course presentation and gave each group topics related to their tribes. The topic he gave the Yoruba group (which I belong to) was to research on the Osun Sengese Festival, including what is used during the festival and the food prepared for the occasion. He also appointed me as the group leader. And gave each group three weeks to prepare for the presentation.
On the first day of the presentation, only three out of the seven groups presented. Our group which was Yoruba wasn’t among them because the lecturer said the remaining groups, including ours, would present the following week.
The following week, we and the other remaining groups gathered in the hall where the presentation would take place. We were the second group called to the stage by our lecturer and the invited guests. Meanwhile When our lecturer gave out the topics before the presentation, he told us that we were expected to greet and conduct the entire presentation in our native language. For example, we Yoruba students were expected to speak only in Yoruba throughout the presentation same goes to the remaining groups. He warned that if we mistakenly spoke English, marks would be deducted. He also said each group should greet traditionally. For example, he explained that if we Yoruba wanted to greet him and the invited guests during the presentation, the females should kneel while the males should prostrate. The same goes to the other groups, they were expected to greet in the traditional way of their tribe during the presentation.
For our food, we prepared Ekuru (beans pudding), sauce, fish, meat, and drinks (minerals). After we finished our presentation and served our lecturer and the guests, we Yoruba group members gathered to share the remaining food among ourselves.

As we were eating, I accidentally farted, but I pretended like I wasn't the one. When I noticed the smell was horrible and my group members started asking who farted, I stayed quiet. Then I farted again, still without saying anything. Unknowingly to me, one of my friends in the group had already figured out I was the one, but she didn’t say anything at first.
The third time I farted, it smelled even worse than the first two. She couldn’t hold back anymore and gave me one hot slap on my back. I was angry and asked her why she hit me when I hadn’t done anything. That’s when she exposed me to the group and said I was the one farting all along.
I couldn’t hold back my laughter, I started laughing out loud. Because of how I was laughing, some of my group members started chasing me, trying to beat me for ruining their appetite. Some of them couldn't even finish their food because of how horrible my fart smelled.
Till today, whenever I remember that incident, I can’t stop smiling. Even now that we are in 300 level, some of my group members haven’t forgotten it. Anytime we talk about anything related to our 200 level course presentation, that memory always comes up, and we all end up laughing again.
This is my entry for the Hive-Naija Weekly Prompt Edition 99

I must say, that fart didn't smell horrible as you said it because if it did, serious beating with anger first before crowning it with laughter 😅
😂😂😂😂😂, if not that I escaped quickly they have determined to beat me. Like seriously I didn't mean to fart but maybe it was the Ekuru I was eating caused it.
It's well😅
😂😂
🤣🤣🤣They could have given you a name instantly so that you could learn.
I did the same thing while we were all at the science laboratory, I farted and my name changed to the polluter instantly till we finish secondary school o🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂, am glad they didn't gave me name then because it will be really embarrassing calling me that name in front of crowds
🤣🤣🤣
This is indeed funny, thank God you were exposed, who knows if you would have continued😂💔
😂😂😂😂, no nah.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was factory reset slap and I loved it hahaha..lolz
My God ..tears are coming out from my eyes from my laughter here oo 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You eehh .lol
😂😂😂😂😂, It wasn't intentional, I think it was the Ekuru(beans pudding) that I was eating caused it.
