"Government Vs Private Service: Which One is Better?"

In this life, there are some things that are run either by the government or private individuals or companies, because we have some people who prefer government services because they are cheaper and are available for everyone, while others prefer private services because of how much faster they are and they provide better quality. Example for the both is schools, hospitals, transportation, etc.
But the question now is, between the two, which one is better?

We all know that government services are for everyone, whether we are poor or rich, and their main aim is to make life easier for everyone rather than to make a profit. That's why anything pertaining to government is always cheaper. For example, we will see that the government hospitals charge low fees, and the school pays low tuition compared to the private one. Also we will see that the government services are also available in many places where the private services may not find it profitable for them. The government tries to make sure that basic services like water, electricity, and transport are available to as many people as possible.

But there are some challenges about government services. Since many people depend on or rely on public services, and there service can be slow. For example, if we go to a government hospital, we will have to wait for hours before the doctor or nurse will attend to us. That's government services for us. Also in government schools, it's always overcrowded with so many students in one class. Government services also suffer from poor management. Sometimes the buildings are not well maintained; things break down, which can take too long to be repaired or fixed, and because of that, the workers may not be motivated to do anything because they are not paid well or on time.

I can still remember when I was in SS2 in a government school (public school), and one of our school buildings collapsed due to lack of building it well, and our school authorities reported it to the government. It was during my SS3 second term that they came to repair it, which means despite the fact the government provides all basic needs and they are cheaper, they can take time to repair or fix it back, not like private services, because if it's private property that collapsed, it won't take them a week before they repair it back.

While private services, on the other hand, are owned by individuals or companies, and their main goal is to look for what will bring them profits. Because they want to attract customers to patronise them, that's why they focus on providing good quality and quick service. If we go to a private hospital, we will be treated immediately, and the environment is always clean and neat, and also it's well-equipped. In private schools, they have better facilities, well-trained teachers, etc.

But the problem with private services is that they are too expensive and they charge high prices. Because not everyone of us can provide private services that's why most people prefer government services. For example, in private schools, they might increase the tuition fees every year, making it hard for parents to still keep their children enrolled. In a private hospital, they may refuse to treat a sick person who doesn't pay ahead or doesn't have enough money to pay, which is not like that in a government service.

Which one is better between the two?

I can't say one service is better than the other because it depends on what we need. For example, if we have the money and we want our child to get the best education, then we can enroll him/her in a private school. But if we don't have much money, we can enroll him/her in a government school, but the difference will be there. If we are sick and we need urgent medical care or attention, a private hospital will treat us immediately, but if we have no money, a government hospital will still attend to us, but the difference will also be there because one will be more faster than the other.

In conclusion, the two services are important because government make sure that everyone, rich or poor gets basic needs, while private services provide better and fast quality for those who can afford it.
