Balancing professional appearance with demonstrated skills.

Good day, people of Hive!
Appearance does matter a lot, especially when we are looking for a job or representing a company, organisation, etc. Our dress matters a lot because it represents our looks, attitude, and lastly, our profession. Appearance matters a lot, especially when we are making a first impression, and also all organisations have their dress codes. For example, you can't wear nursing clothes when you are looking for a job in an oil company. If we wear such clothes, people will be looking at us and wondering if we are normal or what, because the way you dress is the way people will address you no matter what.
Also, the meaning of an interview is that you demonstrate your skills and whether you are competent and fit for the position through the way you speak, your experience, etc. Let's overlook our appearance; rather, we should focus on what we can offer for the growth of the company. It's so sad that people are judged based on their clothes and not what they can offer. We have some people who just dress to look good for the job interview, but they can't offer anything. Let's say, for example, that a poor person and a rich person are looking for a good high-position job in a company.
The poor person doesn't have good clothes, but he or she is ready to go to any extent for the betterment of the company. But if the rich are looking for a position without any offer to give the company, then who do you think will give the position? It will be the rich because of the way he or she dresses, but they don't consider the offer they will bring for the growth of the company.
To me, both appearance and skills matter a lot, and if it's to me, then I would give both appearance and skills a chance to see what they will bring for the betterment of the company, whether they will make the company grow or they will bring destruction or downfall to the company because we can't just focus on appearance and neglect skills.
You know appearance can only make an initial impression, but it can't reflect a person's abilities. It would be only fair to treat all candidates equally and not judge them based on their looks. We have some people who have been working for a company for the past four years and dress professionally but haven't considered doing something to make the company grow more than it was before.
I read a story where a girl who came from a poor family background and was looking for a job to support her family, so when she saw a poster where one of the biggest companies was looking for a P.A, she submitted her credentials and was waiting for the day they will interview them, so on the D.day she doesn't have any good clothes but she managed and wear the one she has, and went to the interview and as she was waiting for her return to be interviewed people were insulting her saying "Do you think they will give you this job with this type of clothes you wear" etc, the girl was crying thinking they are right that why will they give someone like her this job.
When her turn arrived she was told to meet the CEO inside, so when she went inside, the CEO looked at her up and down and said "Why will she dress like this and what offer can she give the company dressing like this" The girl replies to him saying "don't look at my appearance but rather think about what can I do or what extent can I go to make this company grow bigger than before" and said she's ready to do anything to make this company proud, the man was speechless and amazed and said to her that he would give the girl three months to show her competent, before the three months the girl helped the company win the contract they were trying to win for the past two years, the man was amazed and appointed her as his P.A.
So to me, it's not the appearance that matters; it's about your skills and what you can offer.
Thanks for reading❤❤❤❤❤
