Krakow Botanical Garden at the middle of April

It's been a long time since I've been to the Krakow Botanical Garden. It seems that almost a year has passed since my last visit, which is very surprising to me, because I could swear that it wasn't in 2023, but in 2024 that I had an annual pass to the botanical garden. It's amazing how quickly time flies.

It doesn't matter, what matters is that in mid-April we managed to go for a longer walk in the garden and I have to admit that a few things surprised me. The most important thing is that the new orangery is already built. Yes, it hasn't been officially opened yet and you can't visit it yet, but through the windows we could see that almost everything was ready and the grand opening could take place any day now.
As the weather this year looks quite reasonable and unlike last year, spring did not arrive at the beginning of February, now in mid-April, mainly bulb flowers such as tulips, daffodils, grape hyacinths bloom in the botanical garden.

Mid-flowering is also the perfect time to watch blooming magnolias and fruit trees such as cherries, apples, pears.
The biggest hit of this outing was the abundantly blooming currant bush riber sanguieun 'artorubens'. We had never seen it before, and this time it lured us with its beautiful currant scent from a distance of just a few meters.

Dawno już nie byłem w Krakowskim Ogrodzie Botanicznym. Wychodzi na to, że mija już prawie rok od ostatniej wizyty, co jest dla mnie bardzo zadziwiające, bo byłbym w stanie przysięgnąć, że nie w roku 2023, a w roku 2024 miałem roczny karnet do ogrodu botanicznego. Zdumiewające jak szybko czas płynie.
Nie ważne, ważne jest to, że w połowie kwietnia udało nam sie wybrać na dłuższy spacer po ogrodzie i przyznać muszę, że kilka rzeczy mnie zaskoczyło. Jako, że pogoda tego roku wygląda całkiem sensowie i nie tak jak w roku poprzednim wisna nie pryzsła do nas początkiem lutego, to teraz w połowie kwietnia w ogrodzie botanicznym kwitną głownie kwiaty cebulowe, takie jak tulipany, narcycy, szafirki.
Połowa kwietania to tez idealny moment na oglądanie kwitnących magnoli oraz drzewek owocowych takich jak wiśnie, jabłonie, grusze.
Najwiekszym hitem tego wyjścia był mocno kwitnący krzew porzeczki riber sanguieun ' artorubens". Nigdy wcześniej go nie widzielismy a tym raze już z odległości kilku metrów zwabił nas swoim pięknym zapachem porzeczkowym.
