It has been a week since I started using X Premium and working on growing my account, and this is a report on my activity and account growth since then and goals to achieve.

It had been eleven years since I created my Twitter account, but I have never used it much ever since. Virtually everything has changed about it, so I had to put in a conscious effort to bring myself up to speed.

Surely, I did not resume using X and jumped on to subscribe to X Premium. I had learned about how effective it is to reach out to certain groups of people and interact with them—like web3 enthusiasts—and also about how monetization is possible now. And with the project to promote Hive and InLeo to web2 normies and platforms, I figured that I should pay more attention and become a premium subscriber.

To be monetized, there are two available programmes on X. One can either do so with "subscriptions" or "ad revenue sharing," and the latter is where my focus is.

I am not eligible, however. And to do that, I need to meet three requirements.

• Subscribe to Premium.
• Have at least 5M impressions on my posts within the last 3 months.
• Have at least 500 followers.

I have only met one so far, and that is subscribing to Premium. What I am working on now is to gain 5M impressions and have more people follow me to make me eligible for ad revenue sharing.

After doing some research and inquiring from experienced users, I figured out some ways to rack up impressions quickly. And, also, I am doing way more than I normally would to keep up with engagement to "impress" people enough to follow me.

One thing I have learned about gaining impressions quickly is to stick around big accounts and piggyback their viewership and large following. When they make posts, I do my best to be one of the first people to leave comments. If their posts do really well and get trendy, people may want to check what people say in the comments, and it is the earliest comments that get seen first. And if my comments get enough likes, they get more visibility on the parent post.

Getting likes, however, depends a lot on the context of the comment. From my observation, shallow comments like the spammy one just get views, maybe, but not that many likes, thereby not pushing them up like the more insightful ones or thoughtful questions.

And as for engagement, responding to the comments and posts of other X users can help with that. Then they come over to your profile and check you out, and mabye follow you—or not. And that brings me down to my content and profile page.

Long-form content, for some reason, is appreciated more. I make posts on Hive regularly, so I have started sharing them as long-form content on X. What I do alongside that is leave links to Hive (or InLeo) and also put in screenshots of their rewards as a way to promote Hive.

Consequentially, if I can garner a good following and audience, I will be able to promote Hive even better and possibly get more people onboarded. It is part of the reason that I am doing the aforementioned: getting more impressions and follows.

Along the line, I would be sharing whatever it may be that would promote Hive, just like we did during the October Hive Zealy campaign that just ended a few days ago.

Analytics

In the last seven days, I have been able to make 853.4K impressions. That is almost double what I need to earn every week to make 5M impressions in three months. I set the weekly goal of making at least 600K impressions every week to be safe.

Other stats I have been monitoring are my engagement rate, profile visits, new followers, and link clicks. Those ones matter more to me as they give me insights on my progress, especially link clicks. The links I put out usually link to Hive, so that's something to monitor and grow.

In order to not lose my account due to the level of censorship that exists on X, I try to be cautious and careful about those I interact with and how I interact on the platform. For one, I wouldn't want to be shadowbanned, which means having my account's visibility suppressed for as long as Elon deems fit. One way to do that is by checking through websites like this one. And from the looks of it, I am safe and doing alright in my lane.

This is only the first week, and this is how far I have come with growing my X account and getting monetized eventually. Next week, hopefully, I will do even better. Better means that I would get closer to being monetized sooner.
