My Savings Journey with Saturday Savers Club: Update #1

"Let's try this again, shall we?"

It is Day 52 since I made the move to begin to pay more attention and put in more effort to grow in the aspect of savings. I had tried before, but things did not go smoothly. There is good progress now, and here is the first entry to account for it since I started a month ago.

This time around, I am not going on this journey alone. I'm walking in flocks with other people with similar mindsets. I joined the Saturday Savers Club (SSC), a whole community of intentional people working to develop themselves through saving. And their method is quite simple: make it easy by doing the little things that count.

Unlike most conventional saving plans, putting money aside here on Hive still earns you money: Hive Power and HBD Savings. Staking Hive turns into Hive Power (HP) that one can use to earn curation rewards, and HBD Savings has that juicy 20% APR tied to it. So building both just makes a whole lot of sense.

By writing every day and earning money on the posts, I get to earn HP and HBD to bring my goal to fruition. Another way for me to earn HP is to upvote adequately, and that will eventually bring rewards to me. To keep the growth going steadily, I power up at least 1 HP every day.

Considering that I do not get to earn so much HBD regularly and that I trade it for HIVE to power up every now and then, I can only put in a small yet effective amount every day. Half a dollar works for me, and I have stuck with it for as long as 52 days now.

My primary goal is to get to 4,000 HP at the end of this year, as well as have at least 61 HBD in savings. As of a month ago, I had about 2,479 HP and 12 HBD. And as a secondary goal, I had 100,000 NEOXAG stake to reach and had about 65,483 at that time.

Where am I now? Well, like I said earlier, I have made good progress, and I would say that I am well on my way to meeting these goals at the end of the year. Along the way, however, I brought another token onboard.

I am adding LEO to the list of secondary tokens to stack up and focus on. I have 1,100 LEO staked, but I'd like to get to 1,500 by the end of the year. I may surpass it, but I would rather keep my eyes on something quite achievable than not reach something much higher at the end of the day.

To be specific, I would say that my HP increased by 14.8%, my HBD in savings increased by 118%, and my NEOXAG stake increased by 22%. That's some improvement.

I hope to keep going as steady as I am now and then reach my goals. What matters more is having such numbers in my wallet, rather than just reaching the goals and feeling accomplished. That's more reward to gain with more stake.
