Exploring Hidden Gems

Where I am now for my service year is unlike where I am coming from, where there is almost everything for entertainment and lifestyle. It seemed to me like I landed in a town where nothing ever really happens, and I was stuck—until I found certain interesting places. One of these places is where I know I hangout and drink with my friends, especially the ones that are down for beer anytime and any day.

Stunned by the environment this hotel has, I knew that I would be coming here regularly. Coincidentally, it happens to be the same place where our local government chairman—who loves serving Corpers very much—prefers to host parties for us. We had one party recently at this hotel, and that was when I truly saw this place come alive.

There is a club house that is just apt for bubbling parties, and that was what we had there. They were quite large and pretty to the eyes, but what was more of a concern was the lounge they had.

In the last couple of days, I have been at the lounge many times. It is a place for drinks, particularly beer. And it has a comfortable environment to enjoy drinks in, with very large TVs around, really loud speakers with hot beats blasting through them, and great customer service.

As I was there, I observed every little detail of the lounge, particularly how suitable it is to have friends that enjoy beer around, eat, and have talks and laugh over what we would consume. Apparently, it ticks quite a lot of boxes for me.

Great sight to enjoy that tequila as you take gulps every now and then is such a good idea. And it is another reason that I appreciate this place. There's a very pretty-looking swimming pool just outside. And right around the pool is a barbeque stand to get some delectable meat to go with one's drinks.

As I sat there, charging up my devices and working on my PC, more and more people came in to the lounge to, you know, do their thing and watch Chelsea and Arsenal play yesterday. I had all the seats other than the one I was sitting on vacant, and so some joined me at my table to grab themselves some drinks.

I am never really in such a gathering as I found myself yesterday, like football view centres, but watching the watch with them and seeing them enjoy their drinks as they finish bottles and request more was quite exhilarating to behold.

I had already taken a drink earlier on, but it just wasn't beer. I am not used to beer, and so I asked for a simple drink since they had that option.

People visiting this area in Rivers State, Ahoada, may not be aware of such a place to relax and flex unless they are told. It is not by the roadside, so it's not directly located. Putting this together felt necessary to show that there are places with a variety of beer to enjoy and a good environment. I seem to have turned to their every-day visitor now. Heh...

A great place like this deserves to be visited on a daily basis, so becoming it's regular customer is good.😁

ahhh I see, by traveling, you meant that service year? I hope it’s a good experience. It sounds like a good opportunity to see different things and connect with different people but I heard that it can be much better on paper than in reality for some people. We don’t have such a system in the US nor do they have one here in Japan

Oh, yes. I meant the service year. I am in a different state that's way across the country from where I am from.

To my surprise, the experience here isn't as bad as I had previously thought. So many things took some getting used to, but it's all alright still.

I have made plans to travel more from now and learn more about this place. Hopefully, I'll share about them here on Hive.

So you're from Japan, or that's just where you are currently?

I'm from the US but I've lived in Asia for 15 years, mostly Japan and China.

Glad the year is going well, I think that kind of system could potentially be really good anywhere, hell, I wish we could do it between countries that don't get along. It would solve a lot if done properly. Better than studying in a class I think

Oh. Do you speak their language there? Mandarin, maybe?

Better than studying in a class I think
