Laser shooting eyes, stray dogs and much more.

There's a saying that experience makes a human being. Everyone who is alive has had a fair share of experiences. Along the line, we might forget some but there are those particular ones that are unforgettable probably because of how it made us feel or something or someone in them do not deserve to be forgotten. I looked at the prompt for this week and went on a trip down memory lane. I am someone that tends to forget some things very easily but there are some experiences I have had that I don't think I can ever forget.

One of these experiences I don't think I'll ever forget was with a stray dog in my street back then. Whenever this dog saw me, it's initial instinct was to start running towards me. And I was very terrified of dogs then. People kept on telling me it just wanted to play but I wasn't ready to take chances. As soon as I see it running with full speed towards me, my defense mode will be activated and I would run into whichever compound that has their gate open at the time. I was the Usain bolt in my street then😂. My mom even refrained from sending me onerrands sometimes because of that particular dog😂. I remember losing my most punctual student title back then because of that dog too 💔.

I'll never forget the day I represented my school for a spelling bee competition and won. I appeared on a TV show and I was literally the star of the school. Teachers were coming into the class specifically wanting to know me and my favorite teacher back then was so proud of me. I felt so on top of the world.

Then, I'll never forget the day I knelt down and prayed to have superpowers. I had watched this movie where the main character had powers, could fly and shoot lasers out of my eye and all. That was all so cool to me. I so wanted that laser thing back then so I could get back at people who offended me then😂. I was praying to God to give me eyes that shoot lasers. I'm still laugh whenever I remember it.

I'll never forget the day an old woman walked up to me and said "You, I will marry you". Writing this, I can recall the chill I felt and my reaction that day. I never knew this woman from anywhere and she came to me saying she will marry me. She didn't even say her son or anything. She said she, herself will marry me. After rebuking her, I walked past and called my mom immediately. Trust African mothers. She took it the church way as expected. LoL. But it was a scary experience.

I'll never forget the day my brother died. The look on my mom's face, my dad's silence, staring at nothing with tears streaming out of his face, the guilt that the last time we spoke, we had an argument and didn't really get a chance to settle, it all felt too surreal. That definitely was the saddest moment of my life as my life was suddenly upturned.

Although some of these experiences were bitter, I believe everything happens for a reason.
