Inharmonious network service providers
They say network is supposed to work flexibly. But in my school, things always work differently. If you are an Airtel user, you have to find your way upstairs before you have anything to do with network. And if you're an Mtn user, find your way downstairs. If you're using Glo, you can find somewhere between the two to hang around, things will be okay. But if you're a 9 mobile user!!! just go back to wherever you came from. There's no network for you there.
You see, with the way these network providers have decided to not be in harmony with each other, we the students have no option but to endure and find a way to work around it. It is left to you as a user to sort yourself out. And the whole thing is annoying because if your room is on the ground floor and you receive a call, you have to find your way out of that place almost immediately just so you and the caller can communicate better.
I have two sims but that still doesn't mean I get to experience good network everytime. There are few occasions where I've been left stranded as a result of poor network. As someone who has experienced it a lot, it's not something I would wish upon anybody. From the frustration to the anger or even disgrace it comes with, it's one of the worst situations to be in at critical moments.
There was this one time I ate out. I was done eating, and when it was time to pay, what was displayed on the sim I had data on was 'No Signal'. It wasn't funny but it was funny to laugh at, at that moment. There was the fact that I needed data to buy data. And since there was no network in one sim, there was no accessing my bank app. Also, why didn't it display no service before I ate? Why was it when I was done eating. Was I supposed to wash plates in the restaurant as a means of payment? Anyways, the seller offered to turn on her hotspot for me and that was how I scaled through that situation.
Well, that wasn't the worst. The worst network issue I have experienced was sometime few months ago. There was this contest I wanted to participate in so bad, here on hive. Normally, when I write, I go offline so I concentrate better. That was what I did that day. I finished making the post about two hours to the deadline and there was nothing holding me back from posting it. So, I decided to come online and post it. Boom! There was no network. This wasn't even a situation where it showed 'No signal'. The bars were complete, everything appeared normal but I couldn't connect to the internet. It was something everyone around me was encountering also. But I had a deadline to meet up to and I couldn't sleep through it all. Worse still, it happened on both networks.
At first, I sat, waiting for it to come around. I waited for about an hour but nothing changed. I refreshed my browser frequently, turned flight mode on and off. Nothing improved. Then, the first tear dropped from my eyes. I was so pumped to participate and to see it all go down the drain and ending up as one of my postings wasn't something I wanted. It wasn't until a friend of mine came over and I told him the issue, that he advised me to connect to an external network - a VPN. With that, I was able to participate in the contest and submitted my entry few minutes to the deadline.
Network issues can be so frustrating and with how they're very few things one can do without network on a mobile phone, it becomes more frustrating when you experience it. Ever since I learnt how to connect to external networks, when the network lets me down, I find myself in whatever other location with good network and unrestricted access. France preferably.

This whole network issue is very frustrating especially when it comes to banking apps or payments. It’s good to know the seller was kind enough to hotspot you. Now I’m imagining how many plates you would have washed that day.
I would have survived it don't worry. I've been practicing every Christmas over the years😂
🤣🤣🤣
