A win-win
Sometime ago, on Twitter there was this argument going on, concerning people that turn off their data when they are busy or probably doing something else that doesn’t require their phone. The moment I saw the thread, I knew where I stood. Because you can’t be living in Band A, where you have access to light 20-24 hours daily and I stay in a school where we lift our hands in praise if we get as much as five hours of light in a day, and you expect me to be leaving my data on all day. To please who?!
Someone in that comment section even had the guts to argue that it’s the same amount of mb required to load messages when you come online after a while, that is used if you leave your data on while away so why then are we turning it off?. They called us unreliable, they said we are not trustworthy. But guess what? We nor really send you for here. (My non-nigerians, please find a Nigerian to interpret).
Personally, even if I don’t see the appeal in leaving my data on for days, i turn my data off, when not in use. To save battery power. Doing anything data related on my phone is one of the fastest ways to watch the battery go from 100 to 50 in an hour. I remember the one time I decided to risk my last battery percent to save a streak. That particular period, we had issues with light for days. My phone had about 12% left.
As a person who claims to prioritize my happiness, the normal thing I ought to have done would have been to continue reading that e-book I was reading, and immerse myself in fantasy for about two hours or so, but no. I decided to be the all righteous streak partner who has never had a cause to miss a streak. And that was how I came online with my 12percent battery and watched my battery life countdown before my eyes. It died. Within a short span of three minutes. But the streak was salvaged. I was so bored for the rest of the day but what's that's saying again? A win is a win right?
One other thing I do that helps with saving battery life is reading. If you know me and you don’t know I love to read, I don’t think you deserve as much as a crouching space in my world. Aside being a hobby, reading is one action that saves battery power a lot for me. Watching movies? I can’t be bothering to charge my phone every four hours because I was watching a movie. I’ll rather read a book and watch my phone crawl it’s way to low battery. That's killing two birds with one stone I guess.
I would have said setting one's phone contrast to low, helps but that'll be me sharing hearsays. My phone's brightness is mostly always at the lowest, so that's a theory I haven't proved yet as I'm not too familiar with brightness at the highest. So yeahh, when it comes to saving my battery life, the first and most important thing I do is to stay away from anything data related as that is the fastest way to save battery life on my phone.

12% even after having light issues for days? That’s impressive. Even with light on, I know my phone will definitely go off. I better take a thing or two from you.
With light on, your phone will go off? wow! The kind of technology you're dealing with ehnn, I and 57 others can't relate😭
