HEART FAILURE & HOW TO PREVENT IT
Heart failure happens when the heart cannot pump enough blood and oxygen to support other organs in your body. Heart failure is a serious condition, but it does not mean that the heart has stopped beating.
TYPES OF HEART FAILURE
A) RIGHT SIDED HEART FAILURE: This type affects the lower right heart chamber, called the right ventricle. Fluid may back up into the belly, legs and feet, causing swelling
B) LEFT SIDED HEART FAILURE: This type affects the lower left heart chamber, called the left ventricle. Fluid may back up in the lungs, causing shortness of breath.
C) SYSTOLIC HEART FAILURE/ HEART FAILURE WITH REDUCED EJECTION FRACTION: This is a type of left-sided heart failure. The left ventricle can't squeeze as strong as it should. The heart isn't strong enough to pump enough blood to the body.
D) HEART FAILURE WITH PRESERVED EJECTION FRACTION OR DIASTOLIC HEART FAILURE: This is a type of left-sided heart failure. The left ventricle can't relax or fill fully. The heart has a problem filling with blood.
