Mi presentación en Hive - Felipe Zerpa [ENG/ESP]

Hace algunos días conversando con una amiga y colega, en una de nuestras pocas pero nutridas tertulias telefónicas y tras abordar temas diversos como la familia, la situación educativa venezolana y las obras de Julio Verne me comento sobre esta comunidad; dijo que consideraba tenía cosas y temas interesantes que aportar. Así que me animo a presentarme ante ustedes y hablarle un poco de mí, lo cual me presento un grato reto, el cual consiste en tomarme una pausa y dar una mirada atrás y recordar aquella época, cuando éramos jóvenes y el futuro era brillante cuando el viejo barrio estaba vivo como reza aquella canción de The Offspring la cual fue soundtrack fundamental de mi adolescencia y al mismo tiempo y de forma completamente incógnita un preludio de lo que preparaba la vida.

A few days ago, talking with a friend and colleague, in one of our few but nourished telephone chats and after addressing various topics such as the family, the Venezuelan educational situation and the works of Jules Verne, she told me about this community; she said that she considered that I had interesting things and topics to contribute. Abriéndome así un nuevo mundo, los comics impresos, maravillado entre las historias de superhéroes y mutantes término germinando en mi corazón una pequeña semilla llamada hábito lector. Así pasaba mis días desconectado del mundo sin darme cuenta por ejemplo de la preocupación de mis padres por la falta de dinero para costear los gastos de mis estudios, fue de esta manera como un día la realidad se presentó ante mis ojos.

Luego de ese suceso, la biblioteca de mi escuela se convirtió así en mi guarida, y afortunadamente otro de mis tíos Jesús Goitte apodado “NENE” quien era el bohemio de la familia y trabajaba en una imprenta se encargó de enviarme periódicamente cuadernos y otros útiles escolares para mi estudio. Por esos días, mis ojos fagocitaron ávidamente cada uno de los libros de la sección de zoología y cuando ya no quedaba nada para mí en ese espacio, el hábito de la lectura ya había germinado lo suficientemente sano como para motivarme a buscar en otras categorías. fue así que me topé con la novela “Mobi Dick” de Herman Melville y con gran expectativa me embarque en el ballenero PEQUOD dispuesto a ver con mis propios ojos hasta donde sería capaz de llegar el capitán Ahab para concretar su venganza con el gigantesco cachalote blanco, aun hoy sigo admirando su determinación.

After that event, my school library became my den, and fortunately another of my uncles, Jesús Goitte, nicknamed "NENE", who was the bohemian of the family and worked in a printing house, was in charge of sending me periodically notebooks and other school supplies for my studies. Ahora bien, apenas termine de poner nuevamente los pies en la tierra me dispuse a abordar la fragata Abraham Lincoln con la intención de dar caza a lo que se creía era un narval gigante, ¡cuán grande fue mi sorpresa cuando la misteriosa criatura resulto ser un submarino! En cuyo aparato pude hacer un viaje de “veinte mil leguas de viaje submarino” esta vez bajo el mando de un misterioso, severo y en extremo culto; capitán Nemo. Tales fueron las maravillas que pude ver en el fondo marino que aun hoy Julio Verne sigue siendo mi autor favorito. Estas lecturas coincidieron con mi entrada a la adolescencia y el descubrimiento de algo que también se convertiría en parte fundamental de mi vida.

A causa de que mis padres eran miembros activos de la religión de los testigos de jehová las fronteras entre lo que era bueno y lo que era considerado pecado eran francamente infranqueables y ante tanta asfixiante represión el amparo de la noche y las actividades a escondida se vuelven bocanadas de aire fresco para cualquier adolecente. Fue así como una noche descubrí, mirando tv a escondidas, un barco fantasmal a cargo de un “holandés errante”. Descubrí el heavy metal.

Ingrese en la Universidad Nacional Experimental Ezequiel Zamora (UNELLEZ) durante esos años obtuve mi primera guitarra y conocí la filosofía Sócrates, Aristóteles, platón, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer, Camus, Descartes, ETC comenzaron a ser mis lecturas habituales. A pesar de que además de estudiar también tenía que trabajar, cada día debía viajar de un estado a otro para asistir a clase y al trabajo lo que me daba tiempo de sobra para leer, no así para dormir. Un libro en la mano una guitarra en la espalda y un par de audífonos con música cada vez más pesada terminaron siendo parte mí.

Sin embargo esa marcha forzada brindo su fruto, a los 19 ya trabajaba como docente de ciencias naturales y biología y a los 20 obtuve mi titulación, profesional joven con trabajo y sin responsabilidades me entregue en mis tiempos libres a la vida bohemia exposiciones de arte, recitales de poesía, obras de teatro, alguno que otro romance, colaboraciones con amigos músicos, participación en actividades de arte comunitario, conciertos de heavy metal y libros muchos libros cada viernes solía salir con mis amigas Fran y Carmina a vagar en busca de ventas de libros viejos intentando probar suerte de conseguir algún ejemplar para nuestras bibliotecas en dichas ceremonias Fran actuaba como nuestra voz de la conciencia para impedir que no gastáramos todos nuestros fondos en libros, sumado a eso también aprovechaba el tiempo para perfeccionar mis técnicas de dibujo, pintura y aprender el arte del tatuaje.

Profesionalmente todo iba viento en popa casi 10 años estuve en aula impartiendo clases de ciencias, biología, química, artes plásticas; además de también impartir clases a nivel universitario de biología y pedagogía critica. Sin embargo como dijere Herodoto de Halicarnaso “la desgracia debía de suceder” la situación país empeoro cada día mas al punto de verme obligado abandonar mi trabajo, vender gran parte de mi biblioteca y salir del país. Me dirigía a Colombia junto con una compañera de trabajo quien actualmente es mi pareja estuvimos cerca de 5 años, realizamos distintos tipos de trabajos venta de comida, Artesanías, muralismo entre otros.

Allá logre de a poco comprar equipo y materiales para tatuar y empecé a dedicarme seriamente a eso con lo cual logramos obtener un terreno propio y establecernos. El 1 de mayo del 2022 me convertí en el hombre más feliz del mundo puesto que nació sin ninguna complicación y completamente sana lucifer mi orgullo más grande, la perpetuación de mi linaje. Y desde entonces he tratado de no desperdiciar ni un solo momento. Lamentablemente poco después de que la bebe cumpliera su primer año, debido a factores naturales perdimos nuestro hogar, aunque por fortuna todos estamos bien, esto nos llevo a tomar la decisión de volver a nuestro país, donde nos encontramos actualmente.

Total que ya lucifer tiene 2 años y medio está creciendo rápido y su inteligencia solo es superada por el brillo de su mirada. Y aunque las cosas no son tan fáciles y el mundo sea una locura al igual que el capitán Ahab no pienso rendirme, mi meta está más que clara y es dibujar cada día una sonrisa en su cara. Quiero al igual que el capitán Nemo reunir para ella todo lo que realmente vale la pena de la humanidad, el arte. Quiero heredarle mi linaje bohemio.

So lucifer is already 2 and a half years old, he is growing fast and his intelligence is only surpassed by the brightness of his eyes. And although things are not so easy and the world is crazy like Captain Ahab, I will not give up, my goal is more than clear and is to draw every day a smile on her face. Like Captain Nemo, I want to gather for her everything that is really worthwhile in humanity, art. I want to inherit her my bohemian lineage.
