Holi is my favorite festival It is the festival of colors happiness and togetherness Every year I wait so much for this day because it is the time when everyone forgets all worries and just enjoys This year also I was very excited I couldn’t even sleep properly the night before because I kept thinking about how much fun we will have

Starting the Day with Colors

I woke up early at 6 in the morning The first thing I did was look outside the window The weather was perfect neither too cold nor too hot I quickly brushed my teeth washed my face and ran outside with my packet of colors My mother was already awake and was preparing sweets in the kitchen The smell of gujiya and other snacks made me even more excited

I took some gulal in my hands and applied it to my mother's face She smiled and put some on my face as well The festival had officially started for us My father was on duty this Holi so he was not there but I knew he would be thinking about us and missing the fun I wished he was home but still I decided to enjoy the day fully

I went outside filled my pichkari with water and started throwing water at random people The kids in my neighborhood also came out and soon we were all running around throwing colors and water balloons at each other Everyone’s faces were covered in different colors red green blue and yellow Some were even unrecognizable

By 12 PM I was completely covered in colors from head to toe My clothes were drenched my hair was multicolored and even my hands were stained with pink and blue But I didn’t care This is what Holi is all about getting messy playing and laughing with loved ones

Friends Join the Celebration

Just when I was thinking about resting for a while my phone rang It was Rajesh Arey bhai Holi khelna hai chalo he said excitedly I laughed and told him to come to my house with the others Within 15 minutes my friends Rajesh Prashant Dheraj and Kandarp arrived The moment they stepped in I threw a handful of color at them They shouted and in no time a full-fledged Holi war started again

We ran around my house chasing each other with pichkaris and water balloons My mother gave us some sweets and cold drinks to refresh ourselves We took a short break sitting on the stairs and eating gujiyas Yaar Holi bina gujiya ke adhoori lagti hai Prashant said while stuffing another gujiya into his mouth We all agreed and laughed

A Visit to Dheraj’s House

After some time Dheraj suggested Chalo mere ghar chalte hain Waha har saal special chicken banta hai The moment we heard chicken we all got excited Playing Holi makes you so hungry and Dheraj’s house was known for having the best food during Holi

When we reached his place his family welcomed us with more colors His mother applied a small tika of gulal on our foreheads and then invited us inside The aroma of spices and freshly cooked chicken filled the house We sat down and within a few minutes plates full of delicious food were served

We had sweets pakoras and the famous chicken Yaar yeh chicken toh kamaal ka hai Kandarp said licking his fingers We all nodded in agreement Dheraj laughed and said Har Holi pe mere ghar pe yahi banta hai Agle saal bhi aana

After eating we sat for some time talking and laughing about old memories It felt so good to just sit with friends share stories and enjoy the festival

A Quick Stop at Krishna Dhaba

Even after eating so much we still felt like having something cold Someone suggested going to Krishna Dhaba which was famous for its cold drinks and snacks

We took our bikes and rode to the dhaba The place was crowded filled with people who had also come to take a break from the Holi madness We ordered cold drinks and some light snacks The first sip of the cold drink felt amazing it was so refreshing after all the running and playing in the sun

While sitting there we noticed how funny everyone looked Our faces were still covered in colors our hair was a mess and our clothes looked like they had been painted with a thousand different shades Agar abhi koi hume dekhega toh pehchan nahi paayega Rajesh joked We all laughed

The Struggle of Removing Colors

After spending some time at the dhaba we finally decided to go home By the time I reached home I was so tired But before anything else I had to take a bath and remove all the colors

I went to the bathroom and started washing my face But the color was not coming off I scrubbed and scrubbed but my skin was still stained I tried soap but it didn’t work Then my mother told me to use Rin sabun I applied it on my hands and face and after rubbing for a long time the colors finally started to fade

Even after the bath my skin had a slight pinkish tone and my hands were still stained Ab toh ek do din aise hi rehna padega I thought But it didn’t matter The fun was totally worth it

The Best Holi Ever

This was definitely one of the best Holis I have ever celebrated I got to play with my family and friends eat delicious food and create so many beautiful memories Even though my father was not there I knew he would be happy to hear about all the fun we had

Holi is not just about colors it’s about happiness love and togetherness Every year it brings people closer and makes life feel more colorful I can’t wait for next year’s Holi I just know it will be even more amazing
