A Festival-Filled Day: Hindu New Year, Navratri, and Ugadi Celebrations Away from Home 30 March 2025

Welcome to my blog...✍️
NAMASTE (Hello) ❤🙏❤ to all of the stunning personalities of the Hive community I am fine and healthy and hope that you also stay fine, happy and healthy with your family

30th of march was a special day because many things started at the same time. It was 30th March 2025, and according to the Hindu calendar, the Hindu New Year started that day. Also, Navratri began from that day, which was very important for our family.

Morning Call from My Mother

Early in the morning, my mother called me. She told me that for the next 9 days, I should not eat anything from outside, especially non-veg. She said that since the day was very important, we had also placed a Kalash at our home for Navratri puja. Because of that, for nine days, we did daily puja and offered bhog to God. Since I stayed away from home, in a PG, there were not too many restrictions on me. But at home, for those nine days, no one ate garlic and onion in food.

My mother didn’t ask me to avoid onion and garlic completely because she knew that in PG food, it was very difficult to control such things. We didn’t even know what ingredients they used in food, so it wasn’t possible to avoid everything. But one good thing was that they didn’t make non-veg there, so at least that much was fine.

Office on New Year and Navratri
Even though it was Hindu New Year, Navratri, Ugadi, and also a Sunday, we still didn’t have a holiday in the office. This was because some devices from our office were going for ARAI testing, so we had to go and complete our work. Honestly, I was not very happy about going to work on a festival day, but what could we do? Work was work. After reaching the office, I slowly completed my tasks.

By evening, we were almost done. Usually, in the office, after finishing work, we all went out for a walk or for tea. That day also, we went for tea in the evening. My friend clicked some pictures at that time, which I shared here.

Evening time refreshed the mind a lot. After a long day of work, just stepping outside, drinking tea, and talking with friends gave a nice break. The best thing was, our office people also didn’t mind us doing this. So this small evening break was something I really enjoyed.

Ugadi Celebration in Bengaluru
Ugadi was celebrated with a lot of excitement in Bengaluru. Usually, in PG, the food was not that great every day. But that day, because of the festival, even our PG made special food. We got two types of rice—one was normal rice, and the other was lemon rice. Along with that, there was a good salad and some sweet called holige

The holige had daal in it and was a little sweet. But I personally liked coconut holige more than this one. Still, since I was not expecting anything special, getting such a good meal was a happy surprise. The holige was definitely not made in PG because they were not that skilled to make something this good. I think they ordered it from outside, but it was fine.

Overall Experience

Overall, the day was really nice from morning to evening. From my mother's call in the morning to the evening chai time with friends, everything was good. I did miss home a little, especially because of Navratri, but at least I could follow some things from here. Also, getting good food in PG made the day better.
