Israel and Palestine' strained relationship-The root of the ongoing WAR.
Hello everyone, hope we're all having a great day. I'll be sharing a personal analysis of the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine for those of us who don't really know what's going on.
The relationship between Israel and Palestine for many years has been marked by conflict and tension. It's a complex and sensitive issue. Yesterday; on the 7th of October, the Palestinians invaded and attacked Israel living over 500 Israelis dead with thousands injured as of now. Israel then decided to retaliate, also leaving 300 plus Palestinians dead currently. So many countries like US, Germany, UK and other EU countries are against the act of Palestine while some like Lebanon, China and some Asian countries are in support.
I'll try to simplify everything in this blog post to help you all understand the root of ongoing conflict better.
First off, let me start by giving a summary of their historical background. The Israel-Palestine conflict is a long-standing dispute over territory, with both sides having claims on historical and religious rights to the land. It involves political, cultural, and territorial disputes, leading to violence and instability in the region. International efforts to find a lasting solution, including peace talks and ceasefires, have been ongoing for years, but a good resolution remains unknown for now. The conflict's complexity arises from competing narratives, geopolitical interests, and deep-rooted grievances. It has resulted in a couple of conflicts, including wars and uprisings over the past years, causing suffering and displacement for both Israelis and Palestinians.
With this ongoing war, the situation continues to evolve, with periodic outbreaks of violence. A just and lasting solution remains a global challenge.
Another basis for this war from the Palestinian perspective is the creation of Israel in 1948, the United Nations approved a plan to divide the land into separate Jewish and Arab states. This decision led to the establishment of the state of Israel in 1948. While Israel saw it as the fulfillment of their dream, Palestinians saw it as the loss of their homeland.
Soon after Israel's creation, surrounding Arab countries attacked, leading to several wars. Over the years, Israel expanded its territory, occupying areas that were meant for a future Palestinian state. This has been a major source of tension.
Today, there are two main Palestinian territories: the West Bank and Gaza Strip. These areas have been under Israeli control since 1967. The Palestinians in these territories face restrictions on their movement, access to resources, and other hardships.
Jerusalem is a city sacred to Jews, Christians, and Muslims. Israelis and Palestinians both claim to be their capital. The status of Jerusalem is one of the most contentious issues in this conflict.
Many peace efforts have been made over the years, but a lasting resolution remains unknown. The Oslo Accords in the 1990s aimed to establish a Palestinian state alongside Israel but faced challenges and breakdowns.
In 2007, the militant group Hamas took control of the Gaza Strip, further complicating the situation. Israel and much of the international community consider Hamas a terrorist organization.
The Israel-Palestine conflict continues to result in violence and suffering. There are periodic clashes, rocket attacks, and military operations that lead to casualties on both sides. Civilians, including children, often bear the brunt of the violence.
The conflict has had a severe humanitarian impact. Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank face economic hardships, limited access to healthcare, and challenges in obtaining basic necessities. The situation is dire, and many international organizations provide aid to the affected communities.
Despite the ongoing conflict, there is hope for a peaceful resolution. Many individuals, organizations, and nations are working towards a two-state solution, where Israel and Palestine can coexist side by side in peace. Dialogue, negotiation, and compromise will be essential to achieve lasting peace.
The Israel-Palestine conflict is a long-standing and deeply rooted issue with complex historical, political, and social factors. It has caused suffering for both Israelis and Palestinians, and the path to a peaceful resolution is challenging.
Understanding the situation is a crucial step toward finding a solution. While the conflict remains unresolved, the international community continues to call for a peaceful coexistence between Israel and Palestine, where both peoples can live in security and prosperity. Achieving peace in this war remains a global goal issue and efforts to reach that goal continue.
With the way things are going, do you think this would result in a 3rd World War 🤔? Let me know in the comments.
