When the result is directly proportional to effort.
Hello, everyone.
Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learner's featured post. Sometimes you put in the work, and the end result will only leave you discouraged, and you feel like giving up, and you tend to start regretting putting in so much effort, but hard work pays, but we need to start accepting that it is part of life for our every effort not to be rewarded with the right results. Many people tend to give up and feel discouraged from the moment their efforts fail to be rewarded or the results they expected are not what they got, but giving up for such reasons is wrong even though it is difficult to not feel discouraged after getting bad results despite putting in the effort.
Hard work pays off whether we are willing to admit it or not, but there are times when we give our all and get nothing in return. Those who participated in Telegram airdrops from last year can relate better; those airdrops were one big discouragement that can actually hit anyone down and cause them to give up. Many did, and many did not because they felt the next one would be better. All I am trying to say is that to keep pushing when your efforts are not crowned properly takes a lot; it takes a strong and determined person to overcome the sadness and discouragement that comes with such.
From my high school days, I was never the type of student that studies from the beginning of the term. I was one of those types of students who starts to study a few weeks before exams, and sometimes it is good and favorable, while sometimes it is not because of the short time frame. You are not able to cover everything that needs to be covered, and the teachers will mostly set exam questions from the part you failed to cover. It became a habit, and even after I gained admission into college, I continued being the type of student who only starts to study a few weeks before exams.
Getting to college, it became even difficult considering the population and how our lectures keep saying "you should have been taught in your highschool" and for that reason move on without teaching that particular thing, this made covering all the scheme of work weeks before exams difficult as I had a lot of things the to teach myself , those things the lecturers fail to teach I had to teach myself this made me require more time than usual and so ce I had little time I could cover a few things and go to the exams hall hoping that the questions comes from only the part I covered but that is impossible, In most cases most of the questions came from the parts I could not cover and that affected my grade.
After my 100 level result was pasted I only managed to be above second class upper by a few points and a friend of mine advised that I had to sit up if I wanted to maintain it, he suggested that instead of studying weeks to exams I should consider studying bit by bit from the very beginning of the semester, I did not have to wait until the work to cover was bulky as he advised I read everyday or every weekend, if I am to do it everyday I should just read what was taught earlier on or if I am to do it every weekend I must make sure that I cover everything that was taught throughout the week and teach myself all that needs to be taught. I accepted his advice, and I had to stop waiting a few weeks for exams before I started to read; instead, I made it a habit to go through everything taught for the day at night, and that way I was able to prepare for exams even before exams drew near.
It was not easy to switch from the student who had to wait a few weeks for exams before I started reading to the student who went through my book daily. I had to put in the effort in my 200 level, and when the results were posted, the difference was clear. My 100 level result grades were obviously not good when compared to the grades on my 200 level results. That alone convinced me that indeed hard work pays.
Some of my coursemates are like this. They never attend classes, but when its time for exams, they read like no other.
The switch was not an easy one but it was a necessity
Wow this is a great achieve which you have made, the changes was not an easy one but Indeed hard work pays.
I am one of the students that reads at the beginning of the semester.
I am the class rep so I have all the material to myself. I will make sure I take one each for each course and read everything back to back before the revision weeks draw near because most time I am always busy as the rep and I have no time to study when an exam is near.
Nice one that you seat up.
