Those With Good Intentions Don't Last Long.
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. In the few decades that I have lived here on planet earth, one of the things I have noticed is that good things don't last; those things you want to keep forever if it was possible to do so are the ones that get bad or get spoilt even before you start enjoying them. The same thing is applicable to people; you see those good people who have your best interest at heart, and they just breeze in and then breeze out. Either a problem comes to you, or death takes them away from you, and you are left with those who don't even care.

Down here in my country we actually have more bad leaders, those who are only after self-interest and don't even care about the people who voted them in, and when we manage to have a leader that cares, it always comes as a shock because we have been forced to adapt to having bad leaders and learning how to deal with the evil and disaster that befalls the people after they take over power. Even the Bible says that when a bad leader sits on the throne, the people suffer, and down here in Nigeria is a typical example and a better explanation of that passage of the Bible because of the behavior that moved from one bad leader to another; things have only gotten worse, the price of goods and services has tripled, and some are like 5 times the price they used to be.
We have had so many leaders over the years, but the truth is we have had only a few good ones among the many leaders we have had in the past years. The few who had the interest of the people at heart when they took over power did not last; some of them did not even complete one tenure before they died in power, and some could not win a second tenure, but you see, those who do not care about the people?? They always complete their first tenure, win again, and go for a second tenure, and if the constitution permits them, they are ready and willing to go for a third tenure, and if possible, they want to stay in power until Jesus comes.
The one president who I believe and will say did very well and did marvelously well in the sight of fellow politicians and the people is late president Umaru Musa Ya'Adua, a cool and gentle leader who took over power with the interest of the people at heart. Even though he did not last before death took him away from us, he proved himself. To date, the only official salary increment the Nigerian armed forces have received and was implemented was the one done by Umaru Musa Ya'Adua before he died.

There has been no other official increment in the salaries of the servicemen since 2010; they might receive extra allowances, which are stopped anytime and whenever, whereas the salary itself stays stagnant. During his time he made sure everything was affordable; kids these days find it difficult to believe we actually bought fuel for 65 naira a liter; now it goes for almost 12 times that price. He had the interest of the people at heart, and even before death took him, he proved himself in the little way he could.
Very correct dear. Yar Addua did very well in his days before death took him away. I also felt his impact back then and many people too
President
Yar' Adua did very well in his time and we Nigerians will forever be grateful for the good times
