The ultimate social spark.

Emily had a gift all of her friends appreciated; they often called her the ultimate social spark because of how much joy, happiness, and laughter followed her wherever she went. There are no dull moments with Emily; she is a natural and is the life of the party at every gathering where she finds herself, and for that reason, whenever she is not the host of a party or she won't be there, her friends find it difficult to attend because without her the room feels empty, and instead of having fun, they find themselves wishing Emily was there with them.

Emily's ability to ignite and spark any gathering is a gift her friends adored; her infectious laughter makes it top-notch because the moment she opens her mouth to laugh, everyone laughs with her. She traveled out of the state for work, and her friends found themselves in a situation they had always tried to avoid, but this time around it was inevitable. They always gathered on Wednesdays to have fun at a nearby restaurant, but without Emily, they gathered, and no one was saying anything, just looking at each other's faces.

"I wish Emily were here." Sam said to break the silence that has been on for over 45 minutes.

"I wish for the same." Sarah said. "She told me she was going to be back before the gathering; that is why I came early." Sarah added.

"I hope she comes back before we all go home because look at our faces, no one is even smiling; if she were here, things would have been different." Sam lamented again.

Without Emily, all they did was complain and not have fun like they used to whenever Emily was around. "Without Emily, who's the life of the party? Then I think we should all go home." Sam suggested

"Yeah, we should all go home. I wish there were two Emilys in our friend group." Sandra, who hasn't said a word, agreed to Sam's suggestion.

On their way out, they saw Emily in haste to meet them. "Ohh, my Emily," Sarah shouted as she rushed to meet her at the door.

Everyone followed suit and rushed to meet Emily at the door, hugging her tightly and expressing how much they missed her and how they did not enjoy the gathering at all.

"You all look sad. Is the ice cream bad, or did something happen in there? Who are we beefing with or fighting?" Emily teased as she tried to make her way into the restaurant like an action woman, and that cracked everyone up.

"Well, we really did not enjoy the hangout without you; that's why we look sad." Sam responded.

"Oh, my little cuties," Emily said as she touched them all on the cheek like they were little babies, and they all kept laughing. "You guys busy tonight?" Emily asked.

"Not at all, we're free all night." They all responded with so much excitement as they know what Emily is capable of.

"How about a game night at my place tonight?" Emily asked.

"We are in." Sandra responded on behalf of the group.

They all left the restaurant and headed to Emily's house. There was a cocktail waiting by the door for everyone. It was more like she had planned for the game night all along and just needed them to agree to it.

"What's in this because I don't trust you when it comes to things like this?" Sarah asked, giving Emily a suspicious look.

"I call it Emily's secret recipe." Emily said as she smiled mischievously.

They had a round of storytelling; everyone shared a story, no matter how crazy it was. Some shared scary stories; they all had the vibes in them but needed Emily to spark it up, and she did it without even blinking an eye.

"I have never sung in public, but I think it is time to give it a try." Emily said as she stood before her friends, "It's karaoke session." She added as she picked up the remote and started singing.

The night passed like a whirlwind of laughter, a series of games, and even deeper connections between friends, and it was morning for everyone to go back home and prepare for work.

"You have this incredible gift of bringing people together that I adore so much. You are indeed the life of the party." Sarah said to Emily on her way out,

Emily smiled, knowing the memories they made will last a lifetime. "Anytime, my friend. Let's do it again and again whenever we get the chance." Emily responded as she waved them goodbye.

Emily seems like the glue holding her friends together and I love that they understand and do not envy her for it. She's equally got lovely friends and she's lucky to have them.
Coincidentally I just submitted a story with one of the characters named Emily.
