The memory I wish to erase but seems to stick.
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. As humans, and especially as adults, we all have memories we wish we could forget, maybe because they hurt or maybe because they remind us of how stupid we were for doing certain things or for even engaging in certain things. We all have memories we wish we didn't remember, and if given the power, we would just erase that memory for good, and that way, we would never remember it again. It would be like such a thing never happened, and we could go on with our lives and without the memory playing in our heads.
It is very annoying when that particular memory you wish to erase is the one that you always remember, and when you look around you, almost everything reminds you of that particular memory, and it makes it really difficult to forget or do away with it. That particular memory you wish to erase is the one that will always cross your mind; it is the memory you remember before you sleep and the one you remember immediately you wake up. It is more like the memories you wish to erase start to haunt and taunt you.
I have quite a lot of things I don't want to remember anymore, but the one that haunts me the most happened when I stepped into the crypto space as a newbie. As a newbie, I stepped into the space without any mentor, just my instincts guiding me and a friend who was more knowledgeable about crypto than me. He was the one always suggesting tokens to invest in, and then we sent him money, and then he secured the token for us, and then we sent in our wallet address, where he transferred the token to.
Funny how most of the tokens he suggested were rug pulls, and we lost all our money. Then he was using Trust Wallet for the transactions and was using Pancake swap, which was quite complicated for a newbie, so he did all the transactions for us until I found the Roqqu wallet that was quite easy to navigate, and I started to buy a few tokens using the Roqqu wallet by myself. Then they had just a few tokens like STEEM, Hive, TRON, USDT, and BNB listed on the wallet. I blindly purchased about 9,000 trons with about 15,000 naira ($9.79) then and 2 BNB for 18,000 ($11.75) naira.
As of 2021, the prices of these tokens were quite affordable. The memory that haunts me is how I rushed to sell off everything the moment I got a little profit. I was in a hurry to take profit and did not even know the price could double and even triple, and the way I was happy and smiling sheepishly still plays in my head with me thinking I have made just enough profit, not knowing if I had held onto these tokens a little longer I would have made even more profit.
I learned my lesson the hard way: if you don't hold in crypto, you will never make it big in crypto. If you are new to the space too, I advise you to hold; no matter what happens, don't sell off, as the current price can double or even triple in the future.
