Success and how we define it differ.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Success in life is what we are all after, but we define it differently. At some point in one's life, they feel they are successful enough and don't see any reason to keep pushing. For another person, at that same point, they feel it's not enough and want more. We have diverse ways to measure success rates; it all depends on the individual and how they define success.

Some people say they are successful when they secure a good-paying job; some say they are successful when they start a family; and some say they are successful when they have lots of money at their disposal. Success for me should be all about the mindset and how you see or define it.

Lately, in our world today, success is measured by how much money you have. The world today makes it look like everything, including success, revolves around money, and if you fail to have a lot of money, you are considered unsuccessful, and every effort you must have put in to get a thing or two done will be trashed like it doesn't count all because you don't have money, which is very wrong and discouraging, which is why an individual should be the one who decides if they are successful or not, not giving society the room to decide for them. Money might be an important factor to help one through life, but it should not be used as a criteria to measure success; it gives one power, and everyone is struggling to get their hands on it.

You can agree with me that a rich man whose extended family members and people around him are swimming in poverty and hardship is not a successful man but just a rich man; you attain success when your entire family and people around you are well to do and are doing okay. Success comes to you as a rich man when everyone around you smiles like you do.

My definition of success is

We all have dreams and aspirations from childhood; some dream to become doctors, engineers, and so many other good professions, as we all had big dreams even as kids. For me, success is when we make those childhood dreams a reality. Success is when we attain the standards that we desire. We attain success when we attain the standard we feel is okay for us.

A successful individual, for me, is one who achieves all that they dreamed of as kids. Achieving goals might not be an easy thing to do, but we have many who have achieved theirs and are enjoying the satisfaction that comes with achieving them. At the same time, we have individuals who are still trying to navigate their way to their dreams and the standard they have set for themselves. Success rates differ, but what matters is that you made your dreams a reality.

You're very much correct and it's very bad that all the effort put in avails to nothing, people fail to appreciate the little things they've accomplished because the world won't see the worth in it.

Once you don't have money, simply means you don't have a proof to show that you are successful.

Thanks for stopping by.

What’s the point of calling yourself successful if your family is experiencing hardship and poverty.
Your success is definitely not complete

The shocking part is people like that exist, they are just after self interest while family members and people around have little to nothing.

The definition of success differs based on everyone's perspective of the concept. Talking about family members, it is not really easy to carry everybody along even if they are our close relatives. Just because a person is successful does not mean he will have the capacity to help everyone around him.

If you can't help everyone, maybe helping immediate family members won't be bad, I get your point though.

You see this write-up is the genesis of the problem we have encountered today where every young individual wants to become wealthy at all costs thereby involving in rituals.
At times, I used to be in thoughts like have I not tried enough to be successful? Why are things still like this? But I am successful in all areas.

Thank you @offia66

The rate of ritual has skyrocketed, thanks to the society that has made it look like the only successful people are those with money.

Success indeed is in fulfillment of the right purpose. Like you rightly said a rich man whose family is poor is not successful

The feeling of fulfilment that comes with seeing everyone around you doing so well for themselves cannot be compared to any other.

I agree with your definition of success, to some it could be a lot of money in the bank account, while some might be their ability to simply travel around the world. In the end, it all depends on the definition an individual gives success. !LUV
