I welcome you to my blog. I never believed that a time would come when I could go weeks without visiting Facebook and Instagram. Those days I lived out my life on these apps, but they added no value to my life. Instead, I was busy making others rich. No doubt you can have fun on Web 2 platforms. There are so many ways to stay entertained on Web 2 platforms; you can chat with friends, move to the video section, and stay glued for a very long time, but it will cost you and not reward you in the end. On social media platforms/Web 2 platforms, the big accounts feed off the small accounts, more like a parasitic relationship where only the big accounts are rewarded or paid for content creation while the small accounts get nothing.

They are called centralized platforms because they are controlled by a single authority; that is to say, power is not relegated to users. They control what you post and tell you what you are allowed to talk about. Centralized platforms dictate and direct how you behave on the platform, thereby giving you little or no freedom at all. On centralized platforms, you don't have a voice because they ask you what's on your mind, and when you say what is on your mind, they restrict your account and put you through a serious amount of stress to recover your account, and when you finally do, you won't be able to access some features for a while until your restriction and probation period are over.

On Hive the story is different; you get entertained on here too. We have content creators with so much to give, but unlike web 2 platforms, every user is rewarded for time spent on Hive, for the comments, and for every post you get rewarded. On Hive it is not a parasitic relationship but a symbiotic one, as both the small accounts and big accounts get rewarded for what they do on the space, not one feeding off the other like on Web 2 platforms. When rewards are shared on Hive, you don't have to be a big account to be part of the reward shared; it's more like it goes round, and every member of the platform is a partaker of the reward.

Hive is also decentralized; that is to say, power is not being held by a single authority or single account. No one controls your account on Hive; you have full control over your account, and you have the freedom to say what is on your mind without having your account restricted. Hive is the real definition of freedom and decentralization.
