Staying Completely Anonymous.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. We are currently living in an age and era where staying completely invisible has become a difficult thing to do; both adults and even children own social media accounts these days. Everybody wants to be visible because in this era and time we live in, if you choose to stay invisible, you will definitely be limiting yourself, as you will miss out on more opportunities and chances than you can actually count. In this time and era that we live in, it is only those who are visible that stand a chance because only they will be seen and noticed and opportunities offered to them.

In this time and era, whoever chooses invincibility should be someone who is already made or has family wealth they can inherit and doesn't need opportunities to actually get to change their situation or come out of the tight corner that they are in. Staying anonymous or invincible in this time and era feels like choosing to not want to hop on the opportunities flying around here and there because if you try too many at a time, it is those with visibility that get it, as those offering these opportunities feel more comfortable and feel like they can trust those with visibility better.

I applied for a job about 3 weeks ago and the employer took WhatsApp number but sending me a message on WhatsApp she noticed I had no profile picture, she said despite seeing me, she still does not feel comfortable offering someone with no WhatsApp profile picture a job and she left the interview questions she was supposed to ask and started asking why I don't have a profile picture online and she gave me reasons I should have one which includes being trusted easily with no much questions asked, in order to please her and secure the job, I had to put up a profile picture I got the job and decided to take it down and same day I took it down she sent a message asking why I removed the profile picture.

Yes, people can have a digital presence and still be anonymous. I have friends on X and Instagram who just have an account there and are always active but have never posted their picture or video. These guys are even more active on these social media platforms than even social media influencers, but they are just scrolling up and down. Even when they leave rude and harsh comments, you just cannot trace them, but the truth is that staying anonymous has also limited opportunities. They can hop on and try to see if it favors them or not.

One time we had the opportunity to apply for a scholarship, and they asked for a link to a social media account. They could not add a link to theirs because there was nothing on it; they had not posted a single picture or video proving there is a real person behind the account, and they had to back out and not proceed with applying for the scholarship, as even going to post a lot will make the account look suspicious, and they also want to be anonymous on social media, so they just had to let it go.

Yes, i agree sometimes we need to link to our social media accounts which is active and what if we're not active there then we can lose the opportunity 😕

We all need to be seen at some point so we can get to know what is happening around us instead of wanting to be anonymous
