Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking.
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. One thing about every human being out there is that we all have fears; some we are able to overcome, and some we are forced to live with and make adjustments to make sure they don't have too much negative impact on our lives. The truth is that 90% of the time fear only impacts our lives negatively; everything that we fear will always have a way of limiting us and making sure that we do not cross a certain limit in our lives. Overcoming fears requires trying those things you feel you cannot do or fear to do for one reason or another.

Every individual walking the face of the earth has fears; we all have something we fear. It can be water (aquaphobia), it can be height (acrophobia), it can also be fear of tight places (claustrophobia), it can be the fear of falling sick, the fear of losing a loved one, it can be anything, but the truth is that we all have fears, though some people fail to admit it, but it is always there, and we are all aware of some of our fears, and we are not aware some even exist, but they are actually there. The first time I met someone who is claustrophobic, I was shocked. Like, when the place is tight or there are too many people around, or he just feels like the environment is clustered, he gets goosebumps all over him, and his eyes turn red until he leaves the place.
I might not be claustrophobic, but I have my own fears too, and so do you. We have different fears, and sometimes we have the same fears with some other people. One fear I had to deal with that affected my life negatively is the fear of public speaking. I hate to stand before people and avoid doing that no matter how rewarding it must be, and for that reason I have missed so many opportunities, and those who were bold enough to do it got opportunities I would have gotten if I was bold enough to do it.

I have found my way around it and can do it comfortably now, but before I was able to do that, I had lost and missed more opportunities than I could actually count. Sometimes it hurts when I look back and see what and who I have missed. I wish I could turn back the hands of time now, and maybe things would be different. Your fears will always affect you negatively; you just have to find a way to make sure the damage is minimal and not too much.
We have to be intentional about this; by identifying them, agreeing we have these fears and then begin the journey towards overcoming them. Good of you to have dealt with that fear. And yes, fear will always cost us something.
Omo enh I battled with that fear for a long time too, but I was glad I found a way around it too, and like you said, it will always affect us negatively. Good to see you found a way around it too.
Thanks for sharing.
