Insecurities and how they disrupt human activities.

Hello, everyone.

I welcome you to my blog. Insecurity has become the order of the day. I can remember the days when you could count the number of places that had been labeled bad and unsafe, but we cannot even do that anymore, as everywhere feels unsafe in our world today, especially in my country (Nigeria). Those days we knew going to certain states or local government areas was risky, and even thinking about it scares you to your bone marrow, but today, out of the 36 states, I think only two states can boast of not having security issues, or probably their insecurity issues are still mild and the damage it has caused has not gone beyond minimum damage.

Insecurity has a great effect on us as humans; it could render people homeless and even cause them to find it difficult to feed themselves. Today, in the northern part of the country, we have the internally displaced persons (IDPs), those who lost their homes as a result of the war and are now forced to stay in IDP camps with so many other people where they don't even get cared for enough. Living a life with no place to call home or yours is one of the many things that insecurity can cause for us as humans.

Insecurity is also one of the reasons why the cost of food keeps skyrocketing. Those who produce food products like tomatoes, peppers, yams, etc., in the middle belt can no longer go to the farm and cultivate these crops anymore because of Fulani herdsmen that attack them whenever they do, so now we have little supply whereas the demand is high.

Insecurity also has an effect on our country and the economy of the country; no tourist or outsider will want to visit the country for fear of losing their lives, and no country or individual will want to do business with a country that has insecurity issues or problems, knowing full well that at any point in time they could lose all their investment as a result of it being set ablaze or being bombarded.

Almost every region (eastern, southern, western, and most of all northern) has one insecurity issue that disrupts human activities from time to time. When we were living in the northern part of the country, a curfew was fixed to start at 6pm, and every human activity had to be adjusted and ensured none goes beyond 5:30pm so that everyone will be indoors before security men come by 6pm to enforce the curfew. Insecurity is a major challenge our country is faced with today, and it has caused the quality of life in the country to deteriorate.
