How success is defined varies from one individual to another.
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. The truth is that how we see success and how we define it varies from one individual to another. Some people measure success by how much money they have made and how much money they have lying around in their bank accounts, and there are also people who measure their success by how many people they impacted positively, those who feel they are not successful enough until they have impacted as many lives as possible positively such that they will be remembered for doing so for a very long time.
There are many people who make it look like everything about success revolves around finances, and if your finances are not up, then you are not successful enough, but that is very wrong, as success is not only determined by money or finances; there are many other things that, if achieved, can be considered success too, which is why I said success has so many definitions, and it totally depends on the individual and how they see it.
There are also people who define success by how much they have grown personally as an individual; they define success by how much they can now do on their own with little or no assistance at all from home or uncles or aunties like they used to get. A friend of mine who I had a conversation with said something relating to this yesterday; when we first started college together, he was completely reliant on his father to get every little thing for him, but now that we are wrapping up college, he is capable of paying his bills without even calling his father, and he sees it as a success, which is unarguably true.
There are also people who only believe they are successful when they secure their dream job or business or when they are able to fulfill the dreams they had as a child. We all had dreams as children; some are still determined to make it happen, while some have derailed and are now in pursuit of other things that matter to them. Those who are still determined to make their childhood dream of traveling out of the country, school, or job a reality will only believe they have achieved success if they make their childhood dream a reality.
For me, I feel success is all about having set goals and striving towards making them happen and seeing to it that you make it happen no matter the price. Also, while striving to achieve set goals, you make leaving positive impacts a habit and practice empathy, support, and respect for all whose paths cross with yours. It is really not easy to actually achieve set goals because there will be obstacles, there will be challenges, and there will be distractions, which is why I feel if you are finally able to pull it off, it should be considered success.
