How do I want to be remembered?

Hello, everyone

I welcome you to my blog. I doubt if there is anyone out there that wants to be remembered as an evil man or woman long after they are gone, even though not everyone is living their life right or currently involved in doing what is right, we all still want to be remembered for good. We all want praises sung with our name even long after we are gone, death is said to be the end for every man and the truth is that with each passing day our end draws closer and closer which makes it important that we try to live right, treat people nice and show kindness as the things we do while we were alive is exactly what we will be remembered for.

You feel like people are not watching or seeing how you are living your life until you are no more, your loved ones will come to realise that your every move was being watched, how you treated others was being recorded and taken note of, your kindness towards people both people you know and strangers was noted as well. Sometimes you might not be here to either enjoy the good seed you sowed or suffer for the bad seeds you sowed as well but the loved ones you leave behind will either enjoy it or suffer it.

Death comes unexpectedly and those who you leave behind will just have to deal with it, just a few weeks ago, a few days to my exams we lost a fellow final year student, we saw him a day before the day he died; we shook hands and talked about how we will all miss each other after graduation, but we lost him not even 24 hours after that conversation. The following day he went to play football, and he slumped on the field, and that was it. That was the last time we saw his face, and today all we have are the memories we shared, the things we did together, how he treated us, and how we saw him treat strangers as well.

After you are gone, people no longer get to see your face, and you no longer have the chance to right your wrongs. You can only right your wrongs when you are alive, which is why it is important that we try as much as we can to live right.

For me, I want to be remembered as one that impacted those whose paths crossed positively. I want those who got to know me to always remember me for the impact I made on their lives while I was here. I would also like to be remembered as one known for kindness and showing empathy, one who always tries to put themselves in another person's shoes or situation and show them the empathy that they deserve. We all want to leave this world brighter than we met it, though it is difficult to achieve that alone, which is why we all must come together and make it happen.
