Every technological advancement comes with a disadvantage.

I welcome you to my blog. Technology has really fucked how much our world has developed today; without the aid of technology, I strongly doubt if we would have gotten to the level that we are today. When we talk about how much our world has developed, the things that we enjoy, and how the development of our world has made life a lot easier, we can boldly say that we owe it all to technology. Without science and technology, I strongly doubt our world would have developed to the point that it is right now.

One thing I have come to realize is that with each passing day a new technology hits our world, pushing our current level of development to the next level. There is continuous work on new technology, all that just to make life much easier and better for us as humans. We all know that it is no new news that all we have and enjoy today, our forefathers only heard and saw a few of them, but they never got to actually enjoy it themselves. Technology took away all the stresses our forefathers had to deal with.

Technology impacted every aspect of our lives as humans and left no stone unturned, but the truth remains that every aspect of lives it impacted came with lots and lots of disadvantages too; for example, the cars that made transportation easier, better, and even faster are one of the major causes of environmental pollution, especially air pollution. We travel faster and even more comfortably compared to our forefathers, but our environment is degrading even way faster than theirs was actually degrading.

One thing about every technological advancement is that it comes with a disadvantage; sometimes these disadvantages occur naturally, and sometimes they are human-induced, like in my country, Nigeria. Once upon a time, we all depended on cash dispensed by automated teller machines (ATMs), and that was the only way we could get cash, and in those days, no matter how long the queue was, we had to wait until it got to our turn, but through technology, there was a turnaround.

We got Point Of Sale (POS); we can easily get access to cash, but today they are used for scams. People use POS terminals to withdraw cash and receive money from senders, and that way there is no way to trace them. Even our security personnel, when they want to extort youths, don't accept transfers to their personal bank accounts; instead, they use a POS terminal, and that way there is no way to trace the money to them, and no matter who you report the extortion case to, they can easily deny ever taking anything from you.

Some technological advancements disadvantage people naturally, while some are human-induced.
