Change, they say, is constant.
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. One thing about us humans is that we evolve and improve daily, or we regress and become even worse; there is constant change happening in our lives whether we wish to admit it or not. Some of this change, like I have said, is a good one, and sometimes a very bad one that even if others don't see it, we ourselves see even if we do nothing about it. When trying to quit an addiction and after being able to overcome it and then you find yourself going back to that same addiction, that is also change, but in this case a bad one, and when you drop those bad habits and want to do better, it is also change.

As humans there is always change happening in our lives every day; some we notice and admit and some we notice but don't admit because of the shame maybe, or we just don't want anyone to admit them. As humans we all want to do better for ourselves and for our loved ones, but sometimes staying on track and doing better requires more than we can actually afford as humans, and we find ourselves regressing instead of progressing, and those are the type of changes many people fail to admit, but the truth is that changes like this need to be admitted so one can get the help they need to get them back on track.
I have never been a reader. The few novels and plays that I have read, I was actually forced to read, and I read most of them when I was in high school because my literature teacher left me no other choice than to read them, or else I would get whipped, and also my grades depended on reading them because the novels and plays we were asked to read are exactly where exam questions come from. Since graduating high school, I only read a novel when a friend says it is interesting or there is a hype about that particular novel or play online. Aside from that, it is very difficult for me to read novels or books, as I find them boring.

Recently I met a friend who reads books and novels like her life depends on it; her vocabulary is something I admire so much. We got acquainted, and I got to know so many of the things she talks about, like she knows them or has experienced them, and it's actually knowledge gotten from the books she has read, and that only left me fascinated about books and wanting to go into reading as well. Through her I came to realize that novels are not just read for the fun of it but for the knowledge that comes with doing so; reading can help broaden your knowledge and introduce you to things you will never be taught in school.

What I am learning currently is how to be a reader; so far so good since we met, I have read two books, and I am on the third book, and I have been learning a lot of things indeed. There are so many things that only extracurricular reading can introduce you to, as you will never be taught those things in school, as they are not in your curriculum and will never cross paths with you if you stick to what you are taught in school. It was not easy at first, but I am learning, and so far it has been an interesting journey.

Wow, I'm learning from you too. I will start reading books too, I have been too lazy these days to read. A person who reads a lot, you would hear from his or her conversation very fluently and concisely.
Thank you very much.
