Challenges of solar energy.
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. Since time immemorial, man has been on a quest to better life for himself, and they say that the energy consumed in any given area or country is directly proportional to the quality of life. This simply means that the amount of energy that is consumed within an area determines the quality of life within the said area; how comfortable we are living in a given area depends to a large extent on the amount of energy that must have been made available for us. Man has moved from one source of energy to another, and none has been able to satisfy man completely or give man the quality of life he is looking for.
Man has moved from the use of non-renewable energy sources like fossil fuels (fuel, kerosene, crude) that burn and cause pollution in the environment as well as affect the environment negatively and is now in an era of renewable energy. Man is currently in an era where the need for renewable energy sources cannot be overemphasized. Our population is increasing with each passing day, and the only energy source that will be able to sustain such a population has to be renewable, as non-renewable sources of energy can eventually finish, and if we depend on them completely, we will be stranded, which makes going for other alternatives the best way to go about having a continuous energy supply.
There are so many other sources of renewable energy, but solar energy stands out and serves us better, as everyone has access to sunlight, and all that you need is the necessary materials to harness this energy from the sun and use it in a way that favors you. Despite the energy from the sun being unique, it still has some challenges, and these challenges stop people from harnessing this power from the sun or make it very difficult to do so. In subsequent paragraphs, we will be discussing a few challenges that come with using solar energy.
The sun is not always available:The first problem that comes with solar energy is the unavailability of the sun, probably when you need it the most, as we all know the sun is seasonal and does not shine 24/7, which simply means that when we would need it to get a task done, it will not be available. Also, we have seasons like the rainy season, where there is little or no sun reaching the earth; this simply means that the energy will not be available throughout that season and can leave us stranded.
Cost:The price of installing a good solar energy system will discourage you from even thinking about getting it or even going for it. The purchase of all you need to harness this sun energy can leave you broke if your financial flow is not buoyant enough; it should be avoided.
Professionals are needed for installation and maintenance: Another problem that comes with using a solar energy system is the need for professionals to be readily available for installation and maintenance, as those without the knowledge cannot get the job done. Only professionals who know the job can get it installed, and when the need for maintenance arises, professionals must be consulted.
There are so many other problems that come with using solar energy, but I will leave it at this: you can add yours in the comment section.
