Are electric cars the answer to help reduce carbon emissions?
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. It is no new news that one of the leading causes of pollution and carbon emission is the automobile aspect of engineering. Since time immemorial, the automobile industry has been one of the ways by which pollutants such as smoke and particles of carbon are introduced to the environment. First, we had cars and trains that operated by burning coal and wood, which in turn introduced a very black smoke to the environment. This black smoke leaves carbon footprints in the atmosphere and makes the environment uncomfortable and unconducive for both plants and animals, and it is no new news that once the environment becomes uncomfortable and unconducive for plants and animals, it is always as a result of pollution.
Like I always say, technology evolves every day, and with each passing day there is new technology being worked on or an old one being developed to help make life better and more enjoyable for humans. How much smoke this technology of trains and cars burning with burning wood and coal introduces into the environment was seen and confirmed to be bad, and then we evolved to the use of fossil fuels (fuel, diesel), which we have today, but this did not eliminate the problem completely, as it only reduced how much black smoke is introduced into the environment and how much carbon emission also hits the environment, but the problem was still there.
We have had to deal with pollution from automobiles for a very long time, and the last evolution of technology only reduced it to an extent, but the recent evolution of technology seems promising and will help reduce and, in a way, eliminate carbon emissions completely, and that recent evolution of technology that we now have at our disposal is electric cars. Electric cars use electric motors, which convert electrical power into mechanical power, there is no combustion taking place, all the car needs to move or for locomotion is the electric motor.
Electric cars have batteries that are charged using electricity, and they draws power from the battery, unlike the last technological development that requires fossil fuels, which, when they burn or combust, introduce pollutants into the atmosphere.
As there is no burning of fossil fuels or any form of combustion, electric cars do not release any pollutant like smoke (carbon monoxide) into the environment, which I believe makes them the answer to our long-lasting carbon emissions and pollution problem. They will cut down how much carbon emission is introduced into our environment to the barest minimum, thereby making the environment safer, better, and more conducive, as well as increasing the quality of air.
