Afterlife: What really happens after we die?

I welcome you to my blog. Afterlife is something we sometimes think of. Sometimes when I am sitting on my balcony doing nothing, I find myself lost in thoughts like what really happens after we die. Where does the soul go to? Does it reincarnate, does it roam in the afterlife, or does it go to heaven or hell?

All these are questions I ask myself because we do not have a single belief about what happens in the afterlife; we have religious beliefs, we have people who see things from a scientific perspective, and also those who just have a spiritual and religious belief about what happens in the afterlife.

If we had a single conclusion or belief about what happens in the afterlife, maybe the many questions that run through my head during my free time would not even cross my mind, as what happens in the afterlife is pointed in one direction. If you read books and watch movies, you come to realize that there are so many beliefs around what happens in the afterlife, and that will only leave you wondering about what really happens after we die. The Egyptians have their own beliefs where special rituals are carried out in order to grant the dead safe passage to the afterlife, and if these rituals are not carried out, then the dead are stuck in between life and the afterlife but never make it to the afterlife.

Also, the Christians have their own beliefs where there is heaven and hell after death; if you live a life of righteousness and holiness, then you get to experience heaven, but if you don't, then you only get to experience hell, and this has caused a lot of people to want to live right and avoid doing anything that will take away or reduce their chances of making it to heaven because the stories about hell in the afterlife are scary stories about torture and gnashing of teeth.

We also have people who believe the soul does not really die as it in reincarnates in another body and that way life goes on, many people kick against the believe in reincarnation but that still does not stop people from believing that it is true.

Not to forget, we also have the scientist point of view, where they do not believe in the existence of a supreme being; therefore, consciousness ends the moment a person takes their last breath. This simply means that there is no afterlife, as the moment one dies, everything ends there, and there is nothing like a continuity in the afterlife like some religious people have been made to believe.

The discussions about the afterlife is one thing that leaves me wondering sometimes what really happens after we die. It can be confusing sometimes, as we don't have a single conclusion about that. People have different beliefs, and that has affected what we are made to understand happens after we die. What do you think happens after we die?
