After school, what's next?
Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. Graduating from either college or high school is actually the end of one chapter and the beginning of another chapter. So many of us looked forward to graduating from high school so we could get some rest and probably never get to see our mean teachers and lecturers. We did get to stop seeing our mean teachers and lecturers, but life, and how things turned out after graduation was even meaner than the teachers and lecturers we wanted to stop seeing, and if an option were presented before us, we would choose to keep seeing our mean teachers and lecturers, but that chapter is closed, and we now have to face life and find a way around it.
As students we all looked forward to graduation; we longed for it and prayed it would come sooner than it even did. Some prepared while waiting and had a plan in place, some just hoped for direction from God, and some just wanted to graduate and be done with school for good. And there are also many with no plan, no looking up to God for direction; they are just there, and now that they have graduated, they do not know the next step to take or their next line of action.
As a student, the question "After graduation, what is next?" Never left my mind, I kept asking myself that question, and I kept getting different answers: either go into business or go in search of a 9-5 job while adding other side hustles to my 9-5 job, as I have always known that the key to financial freedom is multiple streams of income, and I am definitely going to live by that and not completely depend on a single source of income, but it is no news that securing a 9-5 job in a country like mine is not an easy feat to achieve, which makes going into business, no matter how small the business is, top on the list of things one can do after graduation.
If you come across this post and you just graduated or are still in school and trying to round up, my advice to you is to learn a skill. It can be a digital one or any skill. After school, you can use your skill to sustain yourself until something that pays better comes your way. Even when something that pays better comes your way, still hold onto your skill; don't just dump it, as it will one day help you out. Also, like I said earlier, having multiple streams of income is key to financial freedom, which is one of the reasons you have to hold onto your skill and try to perfect it even if you have other things paying your bills.
