Adulthood Comes With A Rollercoaster Of Emotions.

I welcome you to my blog. As kids, many of us could not wait to become adults because of how much freedom we saw adults in the neighborhood enjoy, but we did not know that the freedom comes with so many sacrifices; the adults in our lives made adulthood look so enticing. As kids you were expected home by 6pm latest, and that interrupted the fun, and we had to leave the playground before the time we actually wanted to. While adults are free and allowed to come home whenever they want to or wish to, that alone was more than enough reason to want to become an adult too.

We wanted the freedom but did not know that so many responsibilities come with this freedom, and if only we were told, we would have preferred to stay kids than find adulthood or anything about it enticing. Now if I am given the option to choose, I am definitely going to choose to want to be a kid again because adulthood has really opened my eyes to things I did not even know existed and things that if I had stayed a child I would never have experienced. As a child you had your parents pay your bills, and you only had a problem when you felt hungry, but as an adult you always have problems that need your attention; you have to pay your bills and those of loved ones. As an adult you don't look after yourself only but look after loved ones around.

The responsibilities that come with being an adult is something that brings about a whole lot of emotions; you can be smiling this minute and the next minute you are sad because you remembered you have an unsolved problem or problems that need your attention so badly, but your hands are tied such that you cannot even help yourself out of the situation or solve the problem. Sometimes adulthood feels like there is always a bonanza or promo of problems where you solve one and get 2 free; as an adult, you are never free from having problems that need solving.

Adulthood sometimes leaves you not knowing how you feel; you ask yourself if you are happy or sad, and you cannot even decide which is which, just mixed emotions and your head spinning. I think every adult out there deserves applause for being an adult, whether they are handling the pressures of adulthood perfectly or not; we just have to applaud each other because it is really not easy.
