Mysterious Giant Rocks along the shores of Lake Superior 🇨🇦

A little cloudy today. But perfect weather for kayaking.

Lots of interesting Rocks along the shore …. photos taken with my iPhone XR

There are tiny quartz and calcite crystals in this rock so we have to come back in the dark to see if it glows like a Yooperlite under 395 nm Ultraviolet light.

The Chasse-galerie, "The Flying Canoe," is a popular French-Canadian tale of voyageurs who made a deal with the devil in order to visit their sweethearts during the night, who are located a long distance away. It is a variant of the Wild Hunt. Its most famous version was written by Honoré Beaugrand, and was published in The Century Magazine in August 1892.

Make sure you keep your promise and see if that rock glows in the dark!

That rock would be good to sit atop and just listen to the elements. Phone off, no tracking, no drama, no hassle, no trouble, just life.
