Office days and fun at the park

I'm pretty lucky. I work predominantly remote, from the comfort of my basement office where I sit around in pj pants and drink my own coffee. We went remote during the pandemic and just... Never really went back. We have a few days per month in office, just one or two generally... And today was an in-office day.

These are usually pretty good days honestly. We get a bunch of meetings done, do a bit of socializing, and the company foots the bill for lunch and a bunch of free snacks. It's a pretty great deal.

All that said, I got about five seconds out my door and immediately wanted to go home. My failed surgery has left me in quite a bit of pain and that makes heading out a challenge. In the end, it was an alright day, but I'm very much looking forward to being able to get another attempted surgery complete and hopefully properly healing this time.

I'm pretty wiped out today, but it's also one of the first nice days we have had recently, so I sucked it up and after grabbing the kids from daycare once I got home, we headed straight for the park.

It's the first time we have been able to go since winter and they had a blast! It was muddy and wet, but warm. They were filthy after playing and splashing in puddles all the way home, which feels like a mark of a good day! They are 3 and 5, so trips to the park are the absolute best in their little eyes, and it's a lot of fun watching them be brave and climb all over the place.

Like I said, I am pretty wiped today though so that's going to be it for me. I'll hopefully have something more entertaining to talk about tomorrow. I have a few ttrpgs I want to talk about but that I just haven't had the time or energy to tackle yet. Hopefully tomorrow.
